Her2 pos ER neg Pr neg and pregnant
I finished my chemo, radiation and herceptin June 2011. I was having issues with a cyst on my ovary and went in for a hysterectomy and found out I am 3 months pregnant!! I am 41 and this will be my 5th child. Total shock. I am very fearful of the cancer returning and not being able to get pet scans, ct scans and cancer markers checked while I am pregnant. Does anyone have any advise or guidance for me? ( I have tested cancer free since all of my treatment; It has only been shy of 1 year though.) Thank you!

Dear nonblonde70, I am so sorry you are going through this. I hope your onc. and gynocologist will be watching you closely. My daughter had 2 cysts found in her breast and was scheduled for an ultrasound-led biopsy. (We are BRCA2+) Meanwhile she found out she was pregnant. When they did the ultrasound, the cysts were no where to be found! I think the hormones kick in and affect the growth or dissolving of the cysts. I hope the same happens to you and that your pregnancy is free and clear of any signs of cancer! I have a feeling they will be watching your blood work closely. I will be praying and thinking of you.

Thank you, that is really good to hear! I am glad your daughter's pregnancy went well, I hope that happens for me too. I was (am) scared about the sneaky kind of cancer I had. Padget's disease. There were no lumps, just flaky skin on my nipple. Mammograms were negative. They found it through a punch biopsy of the skin. MYonc says because I am pregnant that the hormones will make it hard to track my cancer markers. I am going to see him next week and find out more about what can be done during this time. I will think positively, but not bury my head in the sand and just hope for the best! Thank you for writing! That was great to hear!

Needtobestrong,
Thank you! I am meeting w my onc next week and also have an appt with my OB. So far it has been just like my other pregnancies. I hope it stays that way all the way through. I see similarities in our diagnoses, I hope you are doing well. keep in touch.
