Juzo dots

Just got a replacement Juzo sleeve. It fits fine, and is the same size as the one I got six months ago.  After an active day, though, the silcone dots at the top of the sleeve leave big dents in my arm.  Even the next evening (after going without compression - I don't wear the sleeves every day) I can see little dots like bruises. Is there something I can wear between the silicone and my skin to protect it, yet still keep my sleeve up?  I really don't want to send these back.

Snorfia, I don't have an answer for this, but I'm sending it back to the top of the forum so hopefully somebody clever will be able to help here. The lasting dents don't sound like a good thing at all!

Since it's a replacement, is the silicone on the top the same as on the one you got six months ago? Did that ever leave the dots on your arm? Are they custom or off-the-shelf?

My sleeves are Juzo and I do not have problems with silicon dots. When I take it off for a short time you can see dimples but they are gone quickly. I wear my sleeve daily. They are custom and with the sleeves we got the measurements down on the sleeves almost 2 yrs ago. Still working on gloves though. Each time we et a bit better but not quite perfect yet. I have weird fingers - they ar e sort of webbed between ring finger and middle finger and trying to get them to understand is hard.. 2 new sets were ordered a bit over a week ago so hope they're better. If they aren't back they go but with pictures of hand - so we'll see.

Dot marks staying that long might be a good idea to see your LE therapist.

Thanks for the replies.  They are off - the - shelf, and the dots look the same to me, but of course the new ones are tighter. The old ones also left dents occasionally, but not all the time.  I think I will have to break them in slowly.  I had a PM to wear them inside out, and that seems like the obvious solution, along with taking care of the basic problem which is swelling (oh, really now?Wink) So more MLD, exercises, fluids, and deep breathing as the weather gets warmer. While I'd love to see my LE therapist, it's not in the finances.

I was kind of hoping this stuff would go away, but I guess DeNile is more than a river in Egypt. I'm glad this forum is here, though.  Makes it all more bearable.

Snorfia, I think we've all been on that DeNile trip...and then we move on to DeWishfulThinking!

I hear you re the finances--we just do what we can, but permanent dents/bruises don't sound good at all.  Perhaps it's just cuz it's new and will stretch out some.  I know with glove fingers it sometimes helps to stretch them out with lipstick or batteries and my therapist told me to stretch the wrist by putting damp glove over a glass, which worked.

But the danger with trying that with top of sleeve is that it would go too far and then not stay up.  Hope someone else has some other ideas for you.

How many times have you washed it? I always wash at least 8 - 10 times before wearing. Not sure the inside out would be a good idea. I just got 2 of mine out that were made at the same time and there is different look to the inside and outside of the material. There is also some slight difference in the 'cut'. They also say 'right' on the tags. Have you compared the measurements? - they may have changed their pattern or you got a different/mismarked size.

Garnet, good idea about stretching it out while wet. If it gets too stretched out it will go back into shape the next time it's washed, so it might be worth a try. Not sure what you'd stretch it over. I have a fat bedpost I've used in the past, but not I stretch my left sleeve top out on my donning devise (it's a plastic tube-like gizmo a bit bigger than my arm.)

If it's a Juzo over-the-counter it's likely the same inside as out (mine are). So wearing it inside out could also be a good solution. If it were custom or one of those self-lined fabrics that wouldn't work, but in this case it sounds like a plan.Smile

Let us know what you discover, Snorfia!

    Be well,

Just had a thought - if you haven't called them then call them and tell them your issues.

Just an update - I have been wearing my new Juzo's inside out.  They stay up just fine, do their job (I actually had really small numbers one evening!), and NO DOTS!
