Anyone using any kind of weight loss supplements?  Is there any such thing as a safe supplement for us BC survivors?

    Not sure about just supplements...

I started Optifast three weeks ago, and will be on it for four months. (Meal replacements: shakes, soups, and bars totalling 960 calories a day. That's all.) My goal is to lose 40 - 50 pounds.

My MO told me she was THRILLED that I planned to join the program, and said it was the best thing I could do for my overall body health, AND my ER+ breast cancer.

I started to use a product called phen375, 2 months ago with really good results. I also checked with my doctor first. Just go to google dot com and type in the words, how to lose weight fast with phen375, there are tons of sites with information.

maryjennifer -  I did Google phen375, and came up with over a million hits, all from vendors who sell this product.

I did a bit more research to find out the ingredients, and was disappointed to see that the main ingredient - Dimethylpentylamine - has been deemed likely unsafe for human consumption. Although the claim is that it is from the geranium flower, researchers universally believe that all commercial products contain Dimethylpentylamine that has been produced synthetically.

From WebMD: Dimethylpentylamine  can increase the chance of serious side effects such as rapid heartbeat, increase in blood pressure, and increase the chance of having a heart attack or stroke.

In clinical research, taking a product containing dimethylamylamine plus other ingredients seems to increase heart rate and blood pressure.

There have been several reports of dangerous side effects including stroke, a condition called lactic acidosis, heart attack, and death in people who have taken dimethylamylamine.

There is just no substitute for overall healthy eating. Eat less, move more. There are no magic pills.

Since my last post in April, I have now lost a total of 62 pounds, and more than 65 inches by doing just that. I've gone from a size 18 to a size 8. All my labwork is normal, and I am off the dozen prescription medications I had to take daily.

Interesting that maryjennifer and Genesisx only have one post each...this one.

If you are legitimate members, I apologize. But it sounds more like you are here to promote a product.
