Ok, I just love you all. You make me laugh, cry, just want to hug you all. Hope one day to be able to meet some of you in person, but if not I know I will always remember what we've shared here and how special.

Karri: again you make me laugh. LOVE the haircut, good for you. I am buzzing this evening with he hubby and kids and a much loved funky aunt who makes everything fun. It. Is. Time.

Lost: I took stool softeners and Sennekot last time after about 2-3 days of no action, and it cleared it up within 24 hrs. Also, I am emotional but the other way; I find I cry about happy things ALL the time now, and I'm not usually like that. I'm sorry you feel disconnected wher you are. Are you in a rural area?

Onvacation: sorry about your shedding. I've been pulling out clumps since Sunday I think. I had alot of hair to begin with, so only people who know me can tell that it looks alot thinner. But it is driving me nuts now, clumps on my shoulder, bits in my face, on the counter. I've been putting it off, i've been chicken. But now it is time. So this evening we BUZZ.

Had tx #2 this morning. Reported all weird and wonderful SEs, and the feeling is that all is well, everything I experienced was normal or manageable. I feel better at this point than I did last time: no major headache, and not so sleepy already. Wishing good things for everyone today.

I called my friend for him to buzz me and I think we are doing it Friday, since I'm off work, I will have 3 days to get used to my wig.

Embarrassing. I forgot to lint roll myself before I left the house. Maybe people will think I rolled in cat hair this morning. I got the "oh your hair looks nice" from everyone I saw checking out the girls from school -secretary, counselor, school nurse. Once I said "thanks I hope the wind doesn't blow too hard today". :)

Karri: funny aboutthe wind! J took the subway tk the hospital for my tx2 this morning (hubby joined me after he had dropped he kids at school) and you know there's a big Whoosh of wind as the train pulls in to the station.. I was really hoping people around me weren't getting clumps of my hair in their faces... That ws when I thought finally, it is time to take it off.

Well, back to the infusion room tomorrow. Ugh...I just started feeling good again. Oh well, only 2 more AC treatments after tomorrow and 4 Taxol. I keep telling myself that 4 months is not a long time. I'm planning a celebration trip to Disney World once all this is over. I can't wait. Disney World is my favorite place on the planet - I'm such a big kid, I turn into a 5 year old again every time I go through the gates of Magic Kingdom!

Crap, Crap, Crap! Wrote long post, hit wrong button and lost it!

Nulasta (sp)? pain- Didn't get any until Saturday last time (felt like someone removed my skin and beat me with a baseball bat and then put my skin back on). I had been taking steroids (in reducing amts) until friday. Nurse said to take steroids until Sunday and that they should help with the joint/aching pain. Will let you know if it works but wanted to post before I forgot and think I already posted it.

Michelle- Thank you so much for today! When I come visit Fiddletown we will have to sing some duets. (Although I am a horrible singer).

Lana- We are planning a post treatment Disney World trip as well.  We are going to drive and I want to see EVERYTHING on the way.  Good thing about this mess, I am going to quit putting off things I want to do!  New Orleans here I come, hopefully with some new boobs so I can get some beads!  Okay the last is a joke, if I did that I think the DH would put me back in the car and drive me home, a very long, quiet drive Surprised.

Someone said something about getting together, there is a yearly Ta Tas reunion in Las Vegas.  They share rooms and get good rates, and have all kinds of things to do.  Check out their thread http://community.breastcancer.org/forum/34/topic/782453?page=4#idx_116 (hope that works).  They seem very nice and say new people come every year.  I am thinking about it but would be much more inclined if someone from this board was going also.

Well, nap time.  Apparently for me Benadril trumps Steroids.

Will catch up with all the other posts soon, so if I missed someone sorry.  There is sooo much to keep up with and my brain is not functioning at its best.  Yesterday I tried to drive the wrong way down a one way street (and I was in a familiar area).  I had always wondered how/why people did that.  Now I know.

    F.U. Cancer (yeah!)

    Corky

P.S. Good thing for the day.  Cancer has allowed me to meet some amazing people.  Without it I wouldn't have "met" any of you and I am so glad I did.  I come from a very small family, my husband from a very large one.  I now understand more how that feels.  You guys are great and I don't know how I would do this without you.  Okay, now I can and the song "We are Family" to the running list in my head.  Oye Vey!

    Karri, I love it!

I guess I'm getting my hair cut short probably next weekend.

Ugh, the whole thing with the big C - as in constipation - is a problem for me today thanks to the pain meds. I've been taking a spoonful of phillips every night and it's worked until today. Hopefully now that I'm able to cutback on the percocet this will get better...... soon......

Lana:  You touched upon a good topic.  What plans do you ladies have when all of this is over? I read where someone treated themself to a Pandora charm after every infusion.

I plan to take a short trip to my favorite detox clinic when I am done with TCH & again after radiation to try to get my immune system & liver functioning properly again.  The clinic is so friendly & comfortable that it is almost as good as a spa.  I will likely go somewhere warm & tropical this fall when I am almost done with Herceptin.

I agree that all of you are a nice bunch of ladies.  I have been in some of the other forums (especially the holistic healing one) and they sometimes get downright mean and nasty.

I must say I've been thinking about a total detox after TCH as well.  I don't know of any clinics locally, but I will check with my trusted Chiropractor (Mr. Holistic I like to call him LOL) I know his cousin is a natueropath .  As a graduation gift to myself, I was thinking of heading down to Tempe, Arizona.  I have a GF that lives there and she's always begging me to come down and visit.  I think this fall might just be the ticket.  Would love to visit Sedona and the Grand Canyon.  Warm is good to me!

I've been on the holistic threads and your're right, the posts can get pretty cantancerous LOL!  I've lurked there but never posted.  Makes you wonder.

We're definitely planning lots of great stuff after I'm done with treatment! We're planning on throwing a party to celebrate, a trip to my favorite place in the world (Disney World), and a couple of my friends want to take a long weekend and go somewhere tropical. Where am I going to get the money for it all....well, I don't know about that part yet. But it's nice to have some fun stuff to look forward to.

    Hi Ladies,

Yes, I have treatments every two weeks. I have "dose dense" chemo for triple negative bc. 4 of A/C and 4 of T. I have to still learn the names of the meds. My hair started falling out today. It's day 12. So I'm shedding like Kim. I want to comment on everyones posts but I can't seem to keep track! thank you all who shared their heartburn solutions with me. I am taking some Pepcid ac for now, I see the oncologists tomorrow. So not looking forward to Thursday. I finally feel normal (almost) again. But at least then I can say "two down and 6 to go"!!!! Hugs everyone!! Laura

Here's mine: In our little family though we are not at all well off, we do have alot of (3) beautiful old family cottages to go to. My plan is the Lake, the ocean, possibly the other Lake...fresh air, family, friends. For as long as they'll let me before rads.

I had made plans months ago to attend my long lost cuzzins' reunion where we are going to dedicate a tomb stone to our grandparents' on their grave which has gone unmarked for the past 35 years (without most of us even knowing - long story). We formed a private FB group where we've amassed over 150 photos & documents many of us had never laid eyes on before from cuzzins spread near & far with whom most of us have had no contact with one another since childhood.

If my tx plan keeps on scheudule, my last chemo is slated for the day before our reunion date - how freaky is that?!   Hopefully, we'll be able to postpone that last tx to fit in the reunion first 'cause no way am I going to miss it!

I am planning a big sailing trip next april - i usually am on vacation this time of year, so going to rock it next year.

Ok, my hair is killing me.  It seems to be falling out faster, hope it holds out till Friday when my friend can cut it for me!  I now have it in a loose ponytail so it won't just fall out on my couch as I am sitting here.  How can it go so fast!  I know it is just hair, and I knew it was coming, guess I hadn't prepared for it falling out in my hands so quickly.  Oh well, moving on, and I will take care of it!

    Have a great evening!

Confession: we didn't buzz after all. Turns out I don't have quite enough nerve to take it all off all at once. I'm a little ashamed to admit this. So we took scissors to it and just made it a short short cut. After we took one strip off the back! So I have no idea what it looks like back there, and I actually don't care as long as I can face myself from the front. I think tomorrow I'll try to keep trimming it down. This is pretty much me though; I take long time to process things, as a general rule.

I really haven't posted much. Just doing a lot of reading and learning. This is day 16 post chemo and hair falling out in clumps now. Going in the morning to get buzzed. I hope it makes me feel better to just get it over with. My next treatment is next Monday as long as my blood count is up.

Katy, I thought of cutting mine short but it would still fall out in my hands I'm thinking?  So just going to bite the bullet!

Connie - good luck with your next treatment - clumps are so fun right?!

Hi everyone!  On the subject of what to do after, for me it's not so much after chemo, since that is done, but after I get breasts back, and maybe grow a little hair!  Dh wants to go back to Pensacola Beach, FL (Resort called Portofino) but I want to go to Turks and Caicos!!

Lisa, thanks for inviting me to stay!  I'd love to keep up with all of you.  I know the only thing we'll have in common, besides breast cancer, is baldness, but I feel like you are all friends.  I think Karri and I are the only ones in Arkansas, and I know there are others who are in common states.  It would be fun to all get together somehow, maybe at that thing in Vegas.  I need to go back and click on that link.

Katy, baby steps if necessary.  My stylist cut my hair in a shorter style a week before chemo, then when mine started coming out really bad dh buzzed it to a #7.  Then last weekend he cut it with #1, as I was tired of 1 inch hairs everywhere!  And tonight or tomorrow it is getting shaved!  Then my scalp needs some sun!

    hugs to everyone!

    Amy

Katycb- no biggie, when you are ready you'll do it.

kim- my hair started hurting at the roots, felt really uncomfortable until I cut it short, like buzz cut.  At that time it was coming out like 7-10 strands at a time.  that was good for a couple of days and then I took a shower and it started coming out more.  After I got out it kept falling out but was getting in my clothes, pokey and itchy. So we shaved it.

nsmolen- how did tx go today?  Are you seeing some results yet?

Ok this may be a silly question, but my friend has clippers, can you shave with those or just get a buzz cut?

The clippers shoud come with plastic trim size settings.  I would recommend going to smallest trim settings with those first, then you can remove plastic and just use clippers.  You will probably still have stubble in places unless someone uses a regular razor on you.  I would also recommend getting help, the back can be tricky.  It you do remove plastic gaurd you can also nick yourself.  To be honest I have shaved my head in spots and 2-3 years ago did a full head shave just to see what it would look like.  Guess I could have just waitedTongue out.

thanks!  He offerered either to lend me the clippers or he would do it for me, I think I will have him do it since he shaves his own head he should know what he is doing - at least I hope so!  LOL

Also, in defense of my chickening out, my poor little son was very upset, which I couldn't handle so for both our sakes thought step by little step better option than sudden baldness. We had been going to use a #7 all over though...
