I have no personal experience with this product but recently received a brief note from one of the local CLTs I work with. She is having good success treating patients with Truncal LE using the Fabrifoam SuperWraps.

She recommends either the 6" x 10' or 6" x 15' sizes. Because these foam rolls have a special soft Velcro incorporated into the end they can be easily self- applied by patients without the use of tape or clips. They also stay in place better with reduced slippage. She is using it for trunk/chest areas and also thigh/hip swelling.

Wow, and it's not even offered at a highway robbery price!

Linda, thanks for posting this. Looks comfy -- nice fabric cover. My problem with wraps of any sort (even breast/chest binders) is that they increase the swelling higher up on my chest, above the axilla and under the clavicle.Frown

Along that same line, I have a Flexitouch question for you. At the "top" of the cycle (the last two inflations on the chest) it seems to be directing flow to the opposite side (across the watershed) rather than up toward the cleared neck nodes. Have you noticed that? I've never had it actually create swelling on the opposite quadrant, but because it concerns me I put a folded cloth under that last section so it doesn't compress there. What's your experience?

Are you doing each side every other day? That's my protocol, though I don't use it that way -- it's important for flares, but when everything's controlled I don't need it.

Happy April Fool's Day! Stay alert!Laughing

Hi Binney, my current prescription for the Flexitouch is daily on the Stage 2 left side and "as needed" on my right Stage 0/1 side.  I have been cautioned to not do both sides unless there is at least 2 hours separating the cycles, preferably one in the Am and the other in the PM.  I have been using the Flexi on the right side when I detect increased sensory changes with swelling after a particularly physically active day.

I can't say I have noticed the Flexi directing flow to the opposite side at the top of the vest, but I have to adapt my vest in that area when using on my left side.  I have an aneurysm of the external jugular vein in my left neck at the base of my neck.  I avoid compression and deep massage over that area as a precaution.  My Flexi trainer folded the upper neckline of my left vest so that there was no contact with the aneurysm.

I use the right vest in its standard configuration.  I do know the new chest garment is much improved from the original version.  I feel much more effective compression on my spine, scapula and sternum regions that I did not feel with the old system. I also have the additional short straps that I can apply as needed if the vest gaps open or sticks up in places.

Hey, they are located very close to me! I wonder if I could visit and see/try or someone would demo it for me. I am going to call! I have never been able to get a wrap to stay up, and I might have same issue as you, Binney, but I am going to check it out. My therapist might be interested in this.
