Can we Save the Lashes?
Has anyone ever tryed products like "Revitalash"? (developed by an eye doctor whose wife lost her eyelashes to chemo). Did it work? I'm starting AC in a few weeks and fearful of losing my eyelashes and eyebrows! I've been through Taxol so have already lost hair on my head. Thanks to all for your reviews.

I am wondering the SAME thing...I started A/C last week. I can deal with the head, I can even deal with the brows. The lashes make me the saddest. I never leave my house without mascara on! Looking forward to seeing the response this gets.

I used something called lipocils by Talika...expensive. Started before Taxol after AC. I didn't lose brows or lashes on AC but they thinned a lot on Taxol...but I didn't lose them completely.
I'm using Latisse now since I just finished chemo.

That is heartening to know that I may not loose the lashes and brows for awhile! I have already shaved my head down to a #3 (I am just about to start second chemo on Monday) and am still shedding my stubble (and other areas
) but lashes and brows are still intact! -
I did TAC x6, every 3 weeks. Hair fell out 2 weeks after first tx, but I held on to most of my eyelashes and eyebrows throughout chemo. I really thought I had dodged the eyelash bullet, but they ultimately fell out several weeks after my last treatment. Pitiful. I felt like my entire head was bald. But I was shocked at how fast my eyelashes came back once they started coming back - you could see them practically grow overnight, and they are coming back so thick! My last chemo was 12/27 and I had my eyebrows waxed last Saturday (I cannot see very well, hard to do myself). It is nice to put mascara on.

Mine was like yours Deb. Lost my hair after the first of 4 AC (every other week) but kept the lashes and brows until AFTER the last week of 12 weekly Taxol treatments. When they fell out I was really upset but used a bold color eyeliner and eyebrow pencil the color of my wig. (I had decided to have some fun and went wig shopping with girlfriends-changed my look entirely and went strawberry blonde for the 6 months till my hair came back.) The eyebrows and lashes really weren't as obvious as I thought they'd be. It's amazing what you can do with makeup. The look good/feel better program helped me to prepare. Then the lashes started coming back in almost immediately. It was almost like the new ones pushed out the old ones. They were pretty thin and stubby for about a month and then it was over. All that stress for something that wasn't really that bad. Don't let it get to you!

I was so wondering about this too. Although I was losing my hair and decided to take it down to a 1 with the clippers, I did not lose brows or lashes on AC dd 4x every other week. I am ending a three week break and beginning 12 weekly Taxol treatments on Wednesday. Just about a week ago I noticed that I had lost a lash or two on each side. Considering that about my only SE with AC was tearing out of the outside of my eyes from time to te. I think this has been pretty good. My dermatologist weighed in on not using any type of lash growth promoter during or after chemo when I saw him regarding a suspicious mole. So I am going to stay away. Plus I don't want any darkening of the whites of my eyes or possible hair growth outside the lash area. Just me. But I do like my lashes and dread that occurring even though I thoroughly embraced the nonwig no scarf look with my clippered head. Thanks for bringing thus up !!
