Plastic Surgeon San Antonio

Options

Hi all,

Does anyone who had a mx without recon know of a Plastic suregeon in San Antonio that would do this without all the "speeches" about how I am going to want it later?

I have been to two PSs. The first one talked to me forever about all the great recon techniques now and how their office prides itself on using only your natural body to do the recon. Because "God knows ANYONE can do implants" as he put it. But once I said I was not interested in recon I just wanted him to remove the left over skin and make me flat he wanted nothing else to do with me, couldn't get out of the room fast enough. Second PS knew from the begining I didn't want recon just for him to make it flat and remove all the "extra skin" left by my BS in case I changed my mind. He was nice enough but he too patted my leg and told me to just give it time I would want recon later.....UGH!

No I do NOT want recon....not now not ever. Why is it so hard to find a PS who will do what you want?

Gabrielle...so sorry you're having such a tough time. Don't know where you saw the PS's...If you were referred to PRMA, they specialize in breast reconstruction.  I'm here in San Antonio as well and it's disappointing you're having so much trouble with this...the pat on the leg would have pushed me right over the edge. As you know, we have a large medical community here with multiple sophisticated medical centers. This should not be an issue.

Who is referring you to the PS? I had recon so I don't know....do you need a plastic surgeon for this or a BS?

    Hi Che,

My BS referred me to PRMA. PRMA is the office of the first PS I saw. He did not want to discuss anything other than doing reconstruction. Couldn't imagine that I didn't want reconstruction. The Second PS was Dr Garza. He again was very nice but again doesn't want to do what I am asking because he "knows" I will change my mind.  And yes the pat on the leg almost got him punched....lol. I know San Antonio is a hub for great medical people. I even live in Medical Center area lol. I just don't understand how they can assume they know what is best for me and what I "really" want.

It is just aggrivating. I will keep looking for one that will clean up the mess left by my BS.

While tactless, perhaps they mean no real disrespect. Maybe, since your mx was so recent, they feel that you need a bit more time... Perhaps they've had pts who changed their mind a few months later?

Can your primary care physician not help with a referral?
