    Good morning ladies, although I think for most of you its evening.  Time here in New Zealand is 7.42am and I have just started work.

    Inmate - thinking of you with your surgery. The next thing for you is a stress free and HEALTHY summer. Lots of hugs.

    CharB22 - It will be lovely for you to get rid of some bills and stress.  I never get a tax rebate in fact I have to pay some this year. Not really fair cause Mr IRD is much richer than me. Its just the old saying steal from the poor to pay the rich. 

    Has anyone had a urine infection through all this cancer stuff.  I had my third chemo yesteday and when I got home a pain started about half way from my belly button to the pubs in a  straight line. Then later in the evening it was across the bottom of my tummy.  I haven't got a temperature.  The pain came intermittently.  So far this morning I haven't had the pain but when I go to wee it is very warm.  I am going to ring my cancer nurse but just wondered if any of you had experienced anything like this.     

    Sounds like you are all on your way to summer whereas I am just into Autumn and then the dreaded Winter.  You lucky people.

    Hi ladies, the very best thing that is happening to me tomorrow is I am finally going on my dream trip: cruising the Galapagos Islands on a 16-person, 100 ft. catamaran.

    Back in December 2009, I sat in a chemo chair and said, "If I ever get through this treatment and land on the other side healthy, I am doing my bucket list journey." We were supposed to go last year, but DH ended up having surgery and a complicating infection. Finally, we are both well, and ready to go. After 2 years, I am so excited I could bust. 

    Will check in after the Easter holiday, and maybe post a few photos of the wildlife if I can figure out how - lol.

    cocker spaniel...yes I got a terrible infection after my last chemo--saved the best for last I guess...also the one that made me vomit.  I called the doc and gave her my symptoms of pain, burning and peeing blood and she called the prescription right in for me and after the first day of meds all symptoms were gone.  Hope you get relief soon.  Just another thing to worry about I guess.

    Hi Ann, good to hear about New Zealand as my heart is there (my mom).   I swear bladder infections are the worst thing to deal with.  I didn't have any during BC treatments, but had several in a row before my diagnosis.  I went to ER for one of those and begged them for an injection or something.  I couldn't stop going to the bathroom, it was like every second.  I hope you are drinking lots and lots of water.  It is still cold out here and raining intermittently.  Winters are very cold and windy in New Zealand, I experienced.

    Minxie & Hope- for me, the pain you describe *was* sciatica. Amazingly, one visit to the chiropractor (hadn't been in years) got me readjusted and pain-free. May be worth a try...

    Luah- Galapagos is one of the places i want to see also. My son went there on a Study Abroad. I almost went a year or so ago. Looking forward to your photos!

    Luah - so happy for you.  Enjoy your trip and hopefully we'll see you on the 15th!

    My bucket list calls for a trip to Tenerife in the Canary Islands when I turn 50, in two years.

    Me again with the eyes...today I picked up my new glasses and wearing them makes me feel like I'm in a "funhouse"...only it's no fun.  I think the script might be off. The astigmatism correction is throwing me off and I can't stand wearing them. I miss my old "pre-BC" eyes :(

    Thank you all for taking the time to respond about my hip...you helped me put it into perspective. I'm thinking its most likely nothing too serious.  Will try some heat, stretching, etc until I see my onc in a few weeks for my regular check up.  But if it gets worse, I'll see her sooner.

    Luah - your trip sounds great, and I'm so excited for you! I was just  thinking today about my "chemo chair bucket list."  Seems like once treatment ended, responsibilities rushed right in again,  but you've inspired me to get going on that list!

    Sugar - I know what you mean...having eye problems too, but I'm putting off the eye doc visit......3 doc appointments in the next few weeks is more than enough for me!

    Ann, I dimly remember something about cytoxan being irritating to the bladder.  I have suffered from bladder infections my whole life. I was so afraid I would get one during chemo but never did, but we are all so different in our reactions to chemo - my sister had the same chemo but had totally different problems from it.Hope you feel better soon!  You don't need that misery added to the mix.

    christina19 - I think you're  right about the cytoxan.  I remember having to have some kind of kidney test before I started chemo, and I think I was told that cytoxan can be hard on the whole urinary system.

    Good evening ladies! Wow, going back to work after 10 years has been tiring!! By the time I get home then the kids 20 minutes later, dinner and household chores- it is bedtime! At least I am sleeping better because I am exhausted! I am enjoying working at the school though!

    Luah- I would love to see the Galapagos, but not on a boat! I would throw up the entire trip!! I hope you have an amazing trip!! Be safe!!

    Bak- so glad rads are over!!!

    Inmate- been thinking about you and hoping your surgery and chemo go well (as well as they can anyway).

    I have a 3 month MO checkup tomorrow. As always I am a bit nervous, but nothing feels unusual right now. I just have alot of achiness as usual- just geting old!!

    That is my new little nephew!  I am so proud of him, my sister had a rough 8 months with him, but it was all worth it when he arrived healthy.  Just wanted to share with you all!

    Sugar77, I have noticed it too. My prescription has gotten a bit stronger, and now I need cheaters. I guess I could write it off to aging, as when I started chemo I was like 41 but geez!... what Lovelyface rings VERY true for me. I notice that when I don't get a solid night sleep, I wake up bleary eyed and that wasn't the case before chemo.

    Well I have my 6 month check up tomorow - blood work, compulsory boobsmooshing, etc. Praying I get out with just a "well, might think about losing 15 pounds..." I can live with that (in addition to, of course, lymphedema, which, all things considered, I won't complain about)

    Thank you all so much!  I think he is precious!  (of course I am biased)  I took the photo.  I am a new photographer.  I cannot wait to do his newborn session in 2 weeks.

    Ks- He's precious--nothing like a baby to brighten everyone's day--even if it is only a pic for us.  You're lucky you get the real thing!  Love the name.  My 10yo is Carson also.  He's what kept me going during chemo.  I had to be brave and not let him know I was scared, so he wouldn't be scared.  It would have been easy to curl up on the couch and become a potato, but I put on a good front for him, and before I knew it it was over.

    rachelvk- Wahoo for your last chemo tomorrow.  When people tell me "your lucky it was breast cancer."  I think they think if you have your breast cut off --poof like magic the cancer's gone.  I usually say something like, "actually it has a very high recurrence rate and no 2 breast cancers act the same.  It's really a crapshoot.  I Just keep my fingers crossed and am diligent with my follow-up".  That let's them know that for us we are living with this everyday for the rest of our lives!

    Inmate-Sorry about more chemo for you. 

    michele-Were you in menopause when they took your ovaries out?  Am I right in thinking that if I am postmenopausal, that my ovaries are doing absolutely nothing?  I think I want them both out.

    I went to a new Dr. yesterday.  She is at a breast cancer treatment center.  She is setting me up with a gynecological onc and a bc onc and is scheduling an MRI for the bone pain under my arm.  All are in the same building.  It's about a 2 hour drive for me, but I left there with a feeling of security, like I have a whole team now watching over me.  I truly have felt like the past month I've been passed from one dr to another.  Her words were "Let's do an MRI and we'll start fresh."  Finally feel confident that every concern I have isn't written off as "scar tissue" without even checking.  Hopefully I can get in next week.

    Inmate - thinking of you and hoping all is well.  You will be up and about in no time. Lots of good fuzzies and hugs. 

    KSmatthews - what a beautiful babe Carson is. Nothing like the pic of a new born to put the smile on your face.  I would love another grandchild but both my daughters have told me the baby factory is closed for good.  Shame!!

    Luah - enjoy your trip and have a wonderful deserving time.

    Christina - yes I do feel better today thanks to your good wishes.  I didn't have a temp and I went to see the nurses where I work and they did a urine test for me which was clear.  So that made me feel better. The thought of having to take more meds even though I am rattling now was horrible. 

    Sugar - I haven't noticed any problems with my eyesight as I wear bifocals now but I have noticed my handwriting is not so neat and a bit shaky.  Though I put that down to being 65 although it wasn't like that before my treatment.

    Annie - I have a big house, you can come spend the summer with me ;) Sorry you are having UTI trouble, that can make you feel so miserable. Hope you get it sorted soon.
