Has anyone noticed a changes in bowel movement and upper stomach indigestion after 2 week of radiation? They tell me this is not possible only for other areas of radiation.

Bjay, I have had an upset stomach each day of my treatment.  I was very frustrated because the techs and RNs said it couldn't be connected.  I had a visiting doctor this week - very nice older doctor who pulled out my films, noted that it was my left breast that I'm receiving radiation on and said, certainly it's connected.  Your stomach is just below your left breast and since my treatment is lower on my breast, the stomach is being irradiated each time.  It doesn't solve the problem - I just eat a lot of Tums, but at least I know I'm not crazy.

I'm sorry that you are having stomach issues also, but at least I know I am not going crazy. I have been eating rolaids and if necessary imodium. The techs and the radiologist insist that the radiation is only going to the breast. Today I had my 23rd treatment so I have 10 more to go and then will see the oncologist who will be putting me on a hormone inhibitor. Hope you feel better and I feel better knowing that someone else is experiencing the same problem and I'm not just going crazy. BJay

Remember. dear sister, this whole nasty rigamarole would upset ANYONE'S stomach.  Our providers are guilty sometimes of not understanding what an emottional thing this roller coaster is.

    Gentle hugs, Shirlann

I was told the same thing, needless to say it made me sick.  Not like chemo but never the less sick.  Hang in there you can get through it. NJ
