Thinking of you Amy. (((hugs)))

Amymomto5
This must have come as a shock. I can understand how part of you is happy but then again you've come this far. With that being said no one knows how they will react to any of the stuff they give us, all we have is wait and see. Keep us posted on what her collegues opinions are.
You're 3 year old sounds like a living doll!!
-
triplem67: such a great attitude"-taking the cancer down"!!! yesssssssssss !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Thinking of you Amy....let us know what they and you decide!
-
Wow, Amy, that's really a roller-coaster ride you've been on. Hope this gets decided soon....
-
Amymomto5 - I've just read your thread about having hives and your lips swelling on day 9 after tx. I had the same thing on day 9 after tx #3. My onc is calling it neuropathy tho. I have welts, hives, and generally red itchy patches from hips to feet, on elbows, covering wrists/hands, and on my neck, ears, and forehead. They come and go different days, different places (4 days so far and progressive). It's not your typical numb/tingling neuropathy. It's burny, itchy, painful. I'm going to ask about allergies but wonder why we're having similar symptoms with different responses.
-
Hi everyone - I'm Rachel, checking in from the March 2009 thread and wishing you all calm sailing through the chemo waters ahead. Three years on and the core of our thread is still in close contact via Facebook and I know you'll look back on this time and be so grateful for the support you're sharing here.
Everyone's experience is different but for me chemo took second place to a new love in 2009 and now, three years later, he and I have a gorgeous 7 month old baby who was conceived naturally after my periods returned post-chemo. Life is rich and full and totally unrelated to cancer or chemo. I wish you all the same rich and full life once your time in treatment is done. May chemo be a blip on the radar of your lives. I am thinking of you all very much. I hope you don't mind me intruding on your thread.
-
No, thank you sakura! We love this kind of encouragement! Thank you for taking the time to share with us; your baby is beautiful!
-
Amy- my thoughts are with you. Hopefully your MO will get some answers from their colleagues. Maybe start a thread on the general board and see if anyone else here (outside the marchers) has had similar experiences. Also maybe if you list your symptoms we can all ask our MO's when we go in if they know anything about that? I see mine Tuesday.
Corky

Rachel thankyou so much for sharing your post chemo story, brings tears to my eyes, it's such a gorgeous story. Love it. Thankyou.
-
Amy - what a mixed bag you're going through. On the one hand, how nice to be finished with chemo. Yet, on the other, what is their plan to get any stray cells and give you the best chance of a cure? Have you thought about checking with some of the major centers like Sloan Kettering or Johns Hopkins? Also, I'm going to check with the researcher who's conducting the study I'm in to see what ideas she has. We're all here to support you. Be sure to keep us posted. (((hugs)))
Sakura - wow, what an inspiring story. As you know, in the midst of chemo, doctors' appointments and SEs, it is difficult to think about the light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you for reminding us there is one. Please visit our board often!
Last night, we decided to give my hair a #4 buzz. After a few tears, I said "let's do this!" and the hair came off. It was a liberating feeling that I decided when I was going to lose my hair instead of BC taking it from me. Today, I'll don a cap and head to Tx2, proudly sporting my warrior do!
Best wishes to my sisters with tx today. WE CAN DO THIS! And together, WE WILL!
-
Rachael
Thank you for that! It really warms my heart to hear your story. Congratulation your new love. How wonderful!!!
-
Good morning everyone! Hope all had a good night and will have a great day.
First night after having port in was a little rough for me I couldn't find a comfortable way to sleep. Port is on the right side and that is how I usually sleep with my arm up under my pillow. That didn't work and my left side they had done another biospy so it was sore. But feel good today.
Corky..it's funny you said that about being borg. My husband keeps telling me I've been assimilated and my brother-in-law asked if I was now 7 of 9. (Star Trek Voyager).
-
I lost all my hair about 2 weeks ago right after my second chemo and my three year old just asked me if I was still a girl! Kind of took me back but I was like of course I am! Told her being a girl is more than having hair, it's being strong and having an I can do anything attitude! Good luck to everyone having treatments today! Let's do this! XOXO

Good morning ladies! Hope everyone is starting the day with minimal side effects! I still have a little patch of rash or whatever it is on my collar bone. It doesn't itch and it is not spreading so I am just watching it. I am not sure that is something you would call in about? It is just ugly more than anything.
-
Good morning ladies. I hope everyone is doing well this morning.
(((Amy))) I'm thinking of you. Let us know what the team says and what you decide. What a roller coaster.
Sakura73- You didn't intrude one bit! Thank you so much for sharing your story. I for one need to hear more encouraging stories like yours. Thank you.
lisajcj- I've been thinking the same lately....like I would rather just go get my head buzzed now so that #1 I won't let it go until I look like Gollum (Lord of the Rings), hanging on to "my precious" curls and #2 I'll feel like I'm in control. Not the freaking BC.
Westwoodmom- What an awesome response to your daughter and one that I need to keep reminding myself.
The hair is really shedding now. I don't know how many days it usually takes for it to all drop to the floor, but at this rate, it won't be long. I might take care of it this weekend so that I can get used to putting scarves, hats, and my wig on.
I hope all sisters getting tx today do well and hope everyone is having minimal SE's. May we all think of something positive today and not let cancer control our thoughts today.

I had a strange thing happen last night - I got an "automatically generated" email from this site, saying they have revoked my ability to report posts due to misuse!? I don't even know HOW to report a post, or why I would do such a thing??? It also says I can only send a handful of private messages each day. I've only EVER sent a handful of private messages in the entire time I've been on this site. Then it goes on to talk about abuse of the post reporting function blah blah blah. The sad thing is, I can't find a single place on this entire site where I can contact anyone to ask what caused this! This has me in tears - I hate being unfairly accused of things! Does anyone understand this?!
-
Amy
That's weird?! Why don't you send a message to the Moderators and ask. Mabey someone hit the Report this Post instead of Post a reply by accident??
-
Amy: Very sweet response from your 3 year old. My 9 year old said "Mom, I'm sad that you're sick, but I think it will be kind of cool when your hair comes out." LOL. Typical boy! So I told him he could buzz it when the time comes. Might as well laugh.
-
Where do I find moderators??
-
Amy - there is a board that says "comments, suggestions" or something like that under the forums. I would post a message on that that addresses the issue and asks what they think think you should do or ask what you have done....I know I have accidentally hit this "report this post" button on my phone before. It is under the "jump to a forum" section near the top of the screen near the bottom.
-
Me again...it appears there is not a direct way to contact them, a lot of it seems to be auto generated and when you go under the help section it is just FAQs...I see them posting on threads all the time though so I know they read/monitor.
Rachel, thank you for that story, not intrusive at all...
Lisa, congrats on the big buzz. I am doing it as soon as I feel mine start to let go. Should be next Monday/Tuesday for me.
lostinmo - that was the worst for me too...I had just had my SNB and couldn't sleep on that side, couldn't sleep on the port side and just had to lie flat on my back. Now 2 1/2 weeks later, I can toss and turn and flip and flop all I want. I may be sore the next morning but it isn't unbearable. I am a side sleeper for sure.
Westwoodmom - awww, that's sweet...if nothing else maybe our daughters see this as something that we can take control of and it can be empowering.
Lana - my 8 yo DD had the same response your son did, she is fascinated. She is my wild child though.
Kim - I guess as long as it doesn't itch or spread???
Feeling blah today but more ok physically. I did reach up for something with my "bad" arm and feel like I almost pulled something in my arm so it is kind of hurting. My mom is going to the store today for ingredients so I can make cupcakes for DD's birthday today. I got her the Vera Bradley bag and a bejeweled big peace sign/artwork for her recently redecorated room. We will just do gifts and cupcakes with us tonight and then will have her friend party later.
-
Day 3 and doing pretty good. Little more tired but no nausea yet. Last night my stomache bloated pretty big but Zantac knocked it out. I wonder if it was the chemo or the neulesta? Ribs were hurting to for a while.
My happy moment from yesterday was my hubby calling and asking "how's my little chemo-sabi feeling?" had to laugh at that one!
Hugs to all dealing with TX today and minimal SE to the rest of us! -
cmcclean - I agree with your driving comment. Yesterday it felt so good to drive myself and dh to my appts! I envy you your horses! Also, I did post a question about my reaction on another thread but didn't get any response. I think it's rare.
Georgiamom - hope your wrist heals quickly, what a bummer to have that on top of everything else.
SherylIR - I am surprised they called yours neuropathy since it seems so much like an allergic reaction. I will ask my onc about that possibility when she gets back to me. Mine has trickled off. Today there is one spot on my leg, and I haven't had an antihistamine since yesterday. I hope yours resolves quickly.
Sakura - what a happy ever after story!! Thanks for sharing it with us. Such hope for those out there still wanting more babies after chemo!
Karri - I hope you had a quiet day of rest yesterday with everyone out of the house, but missed you at the Look Good Feel Better thing. Maybe we'll get a chance to meet at some point. Have fun with dd's birthday party!
Well, I don't know what is going on with this site, but I will choose to not let it bother me. On their "contact us" page, there actually doesn't seem to be an actual spot to "contact". Weird. I'm just really emotional right now and probably let it get to me more than I should have. Thanks to everyone for the encouragement and support with my chemo issues and everything. This group of gals is so great! Love you guys! Hope everyone has a great day!

Amy
Just figured out how to contact a moderator. Go to the search button, then search by a members name. Type in Moderators. It will bring you to a post by a Moderator. Click on theire name which brings up their profile. From there you can send a privae message with your inquiry about what happened. Kind of onerous but it's the only way I can figure how to contact direcltly.
-
Amy-I know how you feel. We have so much heavy stuff going on in our lives that when some of the little stuff pops up it sends us into a tail spin. One of the ladies told me.that when you first start out that they limit your posts on here. I think as we all are getting closer were posting more. Sending hugs your way!
-
Ahhh...good info MLB. Good to know. I don't blame you Amy, you know it was just a mistake. I just hate stuff like that too. If I am right, I want people to know I am right and be vindicated.
Ok, y'all I don't know if I like my wig as much as I thought I did. It looks a bit like a small animal sitting atop my head. I think I have gotten used to myself with shorter hair and it just seems too much. My mom cut my hair so maybe she can trim/thin it out a bit. I still have another week or so to go.
Off to make the cupcakes...well, it's a mix, so not much work there. I will refrain from eating the batter due to my compromised immune system - drat. The frosting is homemade though...salted caramel, yum.
-
Amy, just PM the moderators. That email is automatically generated in certain situations (if you report a post or one of yours is reported). It was probably accidental. The mods can clear it up for you ASAP.
-
Hi,
I started T/C one week ago. BLECH. Had some kind of rapid heart response during the infusion and again five days later (anyone else experience this?). I'm just getting some energy back but have a few questions for those going through this too. I have had swollen lips and am just starting to experience chemo fog - I didn't really digest what it was until yesterday when my usual multi-tasking self failed horribly at some basic paper organizing. Anyone else getting unreliable brain hiccups? I go for my second round in two weeks (oh yeah, and I just started a round of antibiotics for a chest infection). Fun times!
