I tried it on at the 'fitters' place.  It didn't feel comfortable and he told me I didn't have it on straight and to do it differently next time.  Okay....

When I got home I was looking at the tag and it says, " Made to Order for ........"

Is that weird that he would give me (well sell me and my insurance company) a garment with a tag that states it was made for someone else?

Also, I saw a picture of a pretty gal in a white dress with a parasol wearing a jovipak.  Does anyone wear theirs during the day?

Annette, they do make a day jovipak--but that picture is on their brochures and I think she's wearing a night time version.,

This is a major screw up: if it has someone else's name on the tag, there's a big mistake here.

I'd advise you call Jovipak directly, and also call the fitter--and if you went through insurance, you might need to let them know as you're going to be getting a new jovipak.

Someone made a big mistake here, and he never should have approved the fit. And not to mention it's a HIPPA (medical privacy) error--which is illegal, to dispense a custom made garment to you with someone else's name on it.

Let us know how you make out--this is infuriating on so many levels.

I met with the jovipak people at a conference and complained about a fitter I dealt with, and they made a note of it--they have limited people who dispense them, and this is not in their best interests.

oops...now I have put her name here.  I will try to figure out how to edit it .

As always, thanks, Kira, for your input.  I will start making calls in the morning.

Annette, many fitters won't work with jovipak as unlike Solaris, they don't have a fit guarantee, where they'll adjust the garment to make it work. Unless the fitter made a mistake--which happened here--they charge 60$/hour to patients to alter garments.

But, this is the wrong garment to the wrong person and a beyond sloppy fitter.

    JoAnn Rovig should be steamed.

Wow.  That dude sold you someone else's sleeve.  I would call the company and demand a refund, and then check out Solaris.

One of the major reasons I went with two Solaris Tributes instead of a jovi product is that Solaris will work with you to make sure the fit is right, and at no charge.  I have had numerous interactions with them, and they are awesome.
