Hello, I am hoping that someone had the same experience that I'm having right now. I was diagnosed with DCIS on 11-23-11. The day before Thanksgiving as you can imagine I did not have a good Holiday. I had my lumpectomy 2-3-12 which was not really a problem at all, I got my pathology results I have clear margins. Now I am having time to heal with no problems what so ever, I am suppose to have radiation treatment but no date yet. My actual next appointment is 5-23-12 which I think is a little long, I would like to know if there is a certain time frame for radiation treatment for my type of cancer.

That seems a little long.  With me they wanted to start radiation right when I gave the 'go-ahead' signal, which was about a month after my surgery.  From what I have read on these boards it seems like most people start about 3 weeks after surgery.    I'm not sure what the benefit of waiting would be.  You might want to call and ask if you can get started earlier.
