I'm scheduled for April 13th. That's Fridaythe 13th! I can't wait to get it over with. Waiting is the worst.
-
I think that's a great day for it! My husband was born on a Friday the 13th!
Yes, the waiting leads to way too much thinking.
-
Well since it is your husbands bday, I'm going to take that as a good sign.
-
I was scheduled on April 10th but now the breast surgeon called today and my plastic surgeon cannot be there so rescheduled for April 24th .. I am so full of friggin Anxiety already .. I quit smoking so im 16 days cigarette free ... my mom had her tickets booked from Vegas to here .. then .. I had to call and have her change them .. I swear nothing seems to go right in my world .... anyway maybe I can join here and we can do this somewhat together
-
I think at this point we should take all signs as positive!
-
Lisamarie, what a bummer. Waiting is hard enough without a delay. I am glad we are forming a waiting group together.
-
Thanks , plymouth, I am scared as all hell mine is also a PBMX for LCIS and ADH .. I am a worrier and cannot be on Tamox for 5 years ... and keep getting scans and Biopsies .. as it is now my right boob is smaller than left ... some people think im crazy for doing this but its my decision and I will feel much better when I know I have decreased my chances as best I can .. I am 43 and had cervical cancer last year .. and this year this .. who knows what next year brings ...
I am also having TE's . my mom had a flkight from Vegas for April 9 and now they change things .. so glad she got to change her flight ... I am single and alone and hate to go at it alone .. thanks for letting me join .. The threads here have been good to me ... mostly .. not really my LCIS one but the 40-60 and the stop smoking one helps .. I am also 16 days smoke free .. and about to loose my mind .. I just want this over , i want to heal , and live .. Hugs
Lisa

With LCIS we will all live, I think, knock wood, the issue is getting to the other side of this surgery. How hard to have to do it while quitting smoking. I give you a lot of credit.
-
Met with my surgeon today. All ready to go for April 13th...I think. I had a lumpectomy this past October and they found more than they expected. So, a mastectomy was the next step. But they suggested chemo first then mastectomy. I've had 4 DD of AC and 3 DD of taxol. The taxol has been giving me nueropathy in my feet so I will find out Thursday if we cancel the fourth taxol. If yes, I'm on for 4/13 surgery. If no, then the surgery date will be moved. Sigh. I hate waiting!
-
Hi girls, I have my surgery scheduled for april 12th. I KNOW THE ANXIETY. I just started on this site and i have been on March mastectomies. they seem like a great group of women. I have been learning so much. In the meantime I will post in both.....I look forward to hearing from you.... It is never to early to ask for support.....I need all I can get....
-
Lisamarie, remember - breathe, just breathe. You are an amazing woman, to quit smoking!
-
Hi Sony22 , I hope we are all able to laugh and smile
along with each other on our journey. seems I am having the latest one so far ..
Galsal, Thanks you are amazing as well . You always have nice things to say and are so supportive . I am truely blessed that you are in my life .
Hey Girls am I also the oldest here lol.... I am 43 ..and single and going ...at this alone >>>>scared and glad we are together
-
hi Mardi, wow, you've already been thru a lot! All that waiting is awful. And the chemo is wearing, I'm sorry you had do do all that, is surgery your last step in treatment?
Hi Sonny, sorry to hear abt your wait too, but nice to meet you!
Sorry Lisam, I am older, 51, can anyone beat that? According to my 18 year old daughter my boobs are unsightly and will be no great loss. She may be right! -
I dont have a surgery date yet, not seeing the ps until 3-23. All I know so far is DCIS in two areas, one very extensive and one smaller one, in different quadrants. I still have so much to learn, but it overwhelms me so I am going slow in learning about what it all means.
Today has a sentinel node mapping, cuz they werent sure how many if any nodes were left from a surgery 35 years ago. I am 59 and looking forward to a day in the future when my right and left side are balanced and perky again.
Wish I had a date for surgery set, but spring has sprung here and my asthma has been really bad, and guess it is good I have this wait to clear my lungs before surgery. But I need to see a light at the end of this cancer tunnel.
-
Hi GmaNiki,
I hate the waiting too, I am hoping it is the worst part.
This is becoming a part of my day, I check and see what people are saying, I feel comforted knowing you all are out there.
-
ahh Plymouth .. okay well I am glad we are all here together ... MY boobs are not pretty either lol.. my right is smaller than left due to my exicisional biopsy and .. it dosent matter .. I am glad to be getting rid of them both ... I am so happy we have each other ..
GmaNiki , aww hope everyhting goes okay for u .. this site helps to understand a lot ... glad u are here with us .. I am also on a thread for women 40 to 60 ish and the ladies there are supportive and full of knowledge , if ya wanna drop on in ..
-
45, single, and going at it alone too! After surgery I will have 6.5 weeks of radiation. Then will need to wait another 6 months before DIEP reconstruction surgery. Then wait another 3 months for revision surgery. I better have fabulous ta ta's at the end of this!
-
I bet you will Mardibra ... I am doing TE's and exchange for implants not sure how long my process is all together .. we are here for each other together
-
Lisamarie, sorry for your delay but great for being smoke free. im on 14 days and It is a very hard habit to break. Mardibra, your ta tas will look marvelous because you now will have control of how you want them to look When I met with my plactic surgeon that is what he told me. A long journey but the outcome will be well worth it. .Gmak and plymouth waiting is aweful,Thank God we have this site to know we r not alone. Sometimes we just have to take life one day at a time or one minute at a time.. I also try to remember all the things I'm grateful for no matter how little it may be..
-
Sony22... Congrats on 14 days ...
are you using anything to help ? I am on the patch , but trying to keep it off during the day and wear only at night..and going down to 14mg this weekend ... I am now excited we can help each other out with this as well BIG HUG ! it sucks some days .. but everyday I dont smoke I am better and u are too .... so glad we are all here
-
Hello April ladies
I had PBMX on 02/01/12, waiting is definitely the worse. The surgery is not as bad as one might expect, the pain is very manageable. There is a lot of information on the February mastectomy thread if you want to take a look. Good luck to all of you. YOU CAN DO IT
-
Thanks for the encouragement November, I will look at that thread.
-
Hi Lisa, I'm also excited that we can support each other. I have one patch left and a few pieces of gum left. I know this is something I should have done a long time ago, Better late than never. We will be in tip top shape for our surgery.....hugs to you....
-
Sony22 , wow ... what did u do 2 weeks only on patch and now ur gonna be cold turkey ?? I am not sure I have that much amazing stregth .. congrats to you .. as I said before my PS wants me 3 weeks nicotine free ... before surgery , I am trying really hard to obtain that goal I have 33 more days until surgery GULP !!!! so that gives me 17 more days to get off the patch .. I can do this
-
Hi ladies, I am on the March wait thread to. I was supposed to have my mx in March but the 2 surgeons couldn't get their schedules together. So my surgery is scheduled for April 4th. Such a long wait. I was dx'd on Feb 7th. I also quit smoking it is fricking hard!!! Hope I can join 2 threads, lol!
-
Hello Judy , I was reading some of The. March stuff , as I am full of Anxiety .. and the darn wait sucks . I know My surgery was for April 10th , they called and rescheduled me for April 24th ... Damm huh .. Congrats on the not Smoking .. it is Fricking hard ...
I hate it sometimes... but I know its for the best for my health ... I guess I should stop panicking and just Let go of all this Anxiety and worry .. I have so long before surgery anyway
-
Letting go is the key, if only I could figure it out consistantly. Some days, I'm cool, other days it is Xanax time. That really helps. Do you all have an Rx for that for when it is really hard? It reboots your brain, a good thing in my case!
-
plymouth , im not alloud to have xanax .. my dr wont give to me due to pancreas and liver issues...lol so im all over with my crazy ass feelings
-
Hi
Time to join up .. I had pre chemo AC and taxol, now I'm signed up for mx on April 4. I also will be doing rads and then Diep in 6-8 months. I've been reading the mx boards for past few months, just freaking on the drain tubes a bit, need a Xanax every time I think too much about it. I've been looking in the TLC catalog for camisoles, going to order this weekend. -
Is anyone getting TE or immediate reconstruction?
