Laura I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your brother. It must be a very difficult time for you.
You are very talented, your drawing looks so real and so beautiful. That is too bad it didn't work out with the little puppy you had, but perhaps summer time will be a better and easier time to be raising a puppy and will be here before you know it.
I also don't do facebook, and glad to hear that I am not the only one.
Kat, just know that you can come here and vent (or not vent) anytime. This is the one place you can say exactly how you are feeling, we are here for you.
Take Care

Well my friends. We went out in the desert rockhounding. A friend went with us. The two fellas hike out much further than I can & stay close for safety. When they got back the friend was complaining about how heavy his backpack was feeling, so they must have hiked further than he thought. DH is giving me the 'eye' but I didn't know why. After we got home, DH tells me he had shown a little rock he was deeming 'unworthy' to haul back to our friend, who says 'just put it in my backpack, I'll look at it later. I may want it.' This happened a couple of times & soon DH is 'showing' his friend a rock, before dumping some worthless big ass rock in his backpack. This happened SEVERAL times before they came back-thus the 'look'. DH was expecting him to dump out his backpack & discover his little joke. well, he didn't. So now we are wishing we were a fly on the wall when he does dump it out. Since he doesn't have a phone to call us & howl at us, it could be awhile before we see him again.

I had my BMX on 2/1 so I thought I would get more info here. Does anyone still getting that tight banding feeling around your breast area sometimes?
-
Lola! That's hilarious! Too bad you won't get to see "the reveal" We did a lot of rockhounding when I was a kid - this sounds like something my brother would pull. Sneaky.
Barbiecorn - This group is two years out from our surgeries. I do remember it took a long time for the "band" feeling to go away (at one point I told my partner that I wouldn't want to live if I had to have that feeling forever). I still have a tiny bit of that feeling, especially if Im having some lymphodema, but I barely notice it now. Hope this helps. It all does get better. Make sure to do your stretching.
-
Lola, I love it
That is great ! Too bad you didn't get to see him empty that bag
I hope everyone is doing well Team !
Hugs !
-
Thank you Bookart - it makes me feel better to know that tight feeling gets better. You gave me hope. Funny, I told my husband the same thing about not wanting to have that feeling for a long time. Thanks for your positive input...Barbiecorn

Thanks for all the kindness regarding my brother....it was a long time coming and I am glad to know that he is in peace.
We are getting a new puppy raised by a family near by. Andrew found a flyer at the train station...he is a devil...the puppies were so cute and now one is coming to live with us on Thursday.
She is a blond long haired dachshund (called "English Cream") very she-she... I grew up with doxies and our last one lived for 19 years....we lost him just 2 summers ago. We are also getting a puppy that looks so similar to Smudge in the Summer. So we will be back to two dogs before we know it. I still miss Smudge so much and know that wont change....he was so much more than a pet.... the new puppy will sure be a cutie and bring some smiles

Saw my onc last Friday; got a clean bill of health and now I'm only to see her once a year. Yay!
-
Elaine that is so wonderful! I bet you are thrilled! I know I was excited to get to wait until fall to go again to onco appointment! I still have bs and ps follow ups....plus regular doc...gyn.......maybe I'll actually at some point get brave enough to tackle dental again.
-
Hi J-team.....Just a quick hello...sorry I haven't been on here for a little bit
I don't have much time for the computer. Seems I'm drowning in papers to grade, curriculum to make, and grades to put into the computer. I barely have time to check my regular email, school email, and Facebook. I understand about those of you who don't FB...that's ok. But that's how I'm staying connected with several of "us".
Was it Elaine or Donna that is going on the Casting for Recovery next month? Gina was selected for one last fall. She loved it ! And she never fished a bit...ha!
We have our breast cancer survivors' retreat reunion yesterday....it was wonderful. They continue to treat us a royalty! Amazing.
Praying for all of you daily......
much love to all ...robin
-
Elaine...that is awesome! Whoohoo!
-
Hi Kat:
How have you been doing? You've been on my mind a lot. Please know you are in my prayers.
Paula
-
I'm going to Casting for Recovery in April! It's my first BC-type event. Otherwise, I've just kind of gone on - but I think I need to hang with other BC folk, IRL. I think it will be a good thing.
-
Hi January Sister! Hope everyone is well. You are on my mind everyday. I recieved the report from my ultrasound on my thyroid. I have multipy nodules , one that rather large. They want me to have it biospy. They dont think that it is anything to worry about. They say I have a goiter. Many woman my age get it, because of hormones. I say Yes and WHAT ELSE. I need to find an endocronlogist. I will make app. this week. I was hoping I would of been able to have 2 college graduations in May without any worry. It never seem to work out the way we want it too. I will keep you updated. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers. Keep praying. Hope everyone is enjoing the weather.
Donna
{{{KAT}}} You look wonderful saw you on FB/. HUGS.
-
Donna, will keep you in my prayers for a great doc and all will be ok.
-
Donna - hugs! Hope all will be fine - you've got some time before those May graduations.
Good news - both my onc and bs have moved me to once a year. Doing good! A little weird feeling - like a bird shoved out of the nest. This has been a big shadow in my mind, overhanging all else for the past two years. To still feel it, but have others say, "It's just a cloud", is a bit funky. I guess I won't really feel "safe" until I pass that five-year mark, as my mother had a recurrence at a little more than 4 years.
-
Elaine I can totally understand the feeling. My onco gave me the ok for a 9 month wait and I thought that was a big deal! Of course my bs and ps both want to see me in July so I at least know 2 docs will be making sure I'm ok before then. I think it will stay in our minds for a long time. I just learned last week that a friend from church who was finished with treatment about 5 years ago just had recurrance. Bummer.......this disease really stinks.
