Hi Brenda, bursitis in any joint is very painful and quite often the only relief comes from getting a steroid injection into the joint to stop the inflamation.  Please speak to your doc regarding this and I'm surprised that it has not been suggested by him/her.

    Love n hugs.   Chrissy

You may have frozen shoulder, aka adhesive capsulitis.  I have had it in my right shoulder for almost 18 months now.  The pain is 95% gone (after two cortisone shots) and now it's in my left.  I am getting a cortisone shot for it on Monday.

I really hope that this one helps before it freezes all the way as then I will NOT be able to get dressed. With both shoulders unusable I'm not sure how I'll manage.

It is incredibly painful.  If they haven't given you cortisone yet, you should try it.  Treatment is the same whether frozen shoulder or bursitis.

I hope you feel better soon!  Shoulder problems are awful.  I have it in both now and can't even put a coat on.  Monday I get my shot - I hope by Wednesday things ease up a bit.

Im having terrible shoulder pain that is only getting worse instead of going away.(It hurts to lift the tea pot) I'm hoping a cortisone injection will be the cure, now I just have to make an appointment. I'm so tired of oing to doctors!!! 4 surgeries in 7 months & not done.....sorry, just had to vent.

    Hi,

Is it a burning kind of pain? I have recently begun to have a burning sensation in my hips. It is not constant but happens from time to time when I sit. I am loathe to have a bone scan but maybe I should...

Are you taking arimidex? It can cause joint pains.

If you don't want to take a shot, and prefer to go a more natural route, then try doing some really light movements and stretches and then alternating hot and cold pack (20 min hot, 10 min cold), for a couple of times. That usually helps my shoulder and hip.

I cant believe this town, I am a travel nurse so my insurance is out of state but billable.  I go to urgent care he sends me off with an anti- inflammatory- makes my heart race.  So I stop taking it and go to a general doctor (all this out of pocket), he gives me a shot, 10 pain pills, and another anti-steriod.  The pain is so bad I can't sleep on my hips.

So now, I end up going to the clinic last week, because they are the only place in town that will bill my insurance.  I tell the lady everything I had done and took, she then puts me on an anti- steriod and says it is probably osteo arthritis.  After telling her about the heart racing thing.  WTH, none of these doctors were concerned about mets, no xrays, no nothing.

So here I sit, in pain, wanting to slice the bursa open myself.  Just wanted to follow up!
