YAY Kaara!  Okay all, you can get out of her pocket now.  You're making too much noise and she can't get any rest.  Tongue out

I wonder if they can use something other than Betadine? I remember good old iodine and I sure wouldn't want that in my eye!

My eye seems almost back to normal today, so onward and upward.  Won't have to worry about this again for another month, although I go back next week just for an eye check to see how its doing.  I slept most of the day yesterday as well as last night, so I've had enough rest.  It was stressful, and that's how I handle stress...sleep.   I refused to make dinner last night, so BF brought in chinese.

Watched the final episode of The Bachelor...another doomed relationship...what was this guy thinking!  Mindless fun...didn't require my brain to do much work, which was just what I needed.

    Have a great day everyone!

I seem to be going in the opposite direction.  Every time I get on the scale I've lost another pound!  I've had to buy all new clothes.  I feel like one of those weight loss products that says "be careful or you might lose too much weight"  I used to say...yeah right!  I've had to add some carbs back into my diet because I really don't want to lose below 120, which is the low end of normal for my height.  Sounds crazy, and I would be worried if my BF wasn't losing as well.

I go for my thermography today...will be interesting.

So are you on the Adkins diet, Kaara?

    What is thermography for?

Meece:  No, not the Adkins, just a low carb diet, with no bread or white foods like sugar, potatoes, pasta, etc.  Mostly veggies, fruits and lean protein.  Not a lot of fat either, which Adkins allows.

Thermography is an alternative diagnostic tool for screening breasts.  Unlike mammos, it has no invasive radiation and is done with infrared cameras.  It can catch suspicious areas many years before they can be picked up on a mammogram.  Conventional doctors don't like them...why would they with an office full of mammography equipment bought and paid for, and they have the backing of the insurance industry who doesn't pay for thermography.  I paid $191.00 out of pocket for this and feel it was well worth it.  If anything suspicious shows up, I will need an MRI because a mammo or US would not be able to pick it up it would be so small.  Too bad our medical community can't embrace new techniques that offer safer less invasive screening for women.  I will alternate with mammos from this point forward.

Teka:  My breast technician said that is why she has thermography...she has dense breasts, and it caught something very early for her.

My ex BIL had a thermography business for use in the oil fields.  It could tell stress in equipment.  During certain times of the year, he would lease it out to cattle ranchers who used it to determine if their cows were pregnant or not.

for years, my ins covered the thermography for my annual.. no changes showed up, ever.. they did it bc i had dense tissue.. now, i found the bc; the msmos missed them, till they were so big I could find therm..go figure.. i think it'd be well worth the costs, for anyone who could afford it.......3jays

3jays:  That's what I'm worried about.  My breast tissue was dense because I was taking HRT, in fact, the tumor didn't even show up on US.  I'm hoping that I don't have anything in my other breast that the thermography will find, but it's better to know than not know.  Don't know why mediare won't pay.

I have recieved crazy authorizations from my insurance co.  Only having a mammo or MRi on one breast.  If it is submited enough times, they have approved it for both.

i always fight any refusals, and my drs are good at it, they always get them approved.. its a #;s game they'll approve something under one code, but not another.. the dr just resubmits, under another code...

i don't know about medicare, though..we still have private ins, cause Mur goes to a job he hates everyday, just for the stupid ins.. but, we're happy happy to have it, these days...3jays

Hello ladies, I need some help. I just ordered $450.00 worth of  clothes from a catalog. 2 Skirts, 2 tops and 3 sweaters and pants..  Why o why did I do that?  I have absolutly no need for new clothes.  I just got my closet sorted out last fall and put my new christmas clothes away in January.  I needed the one sweater to go with a skirt I already own. I planned for that, but then the lady on the phone told me it was 25% off day and anything I ordered was 25% off.  So I ordered more and more.  Guess I'll return it when it comes.  Just wish I hadn't done that in the first place.  How can I stop this?

Or donate the same number of items you just bought - clean out those things you do not wear or that do not fit or do not "go together".     If you can afford new things, why not treat yourself, but also keep things under control by donating unused items.

Both good ideas!  I just make it a point never to order from a catalog from a live person.  If I do order, it is online and from a store where I already know my size (like Chico's) and if I need to return I can do it locally.  I've had fun buying my new clothes because I've lost so much weight I don't look good in my old ones.  Normally I would get rid of the old ones, but I saved a few this time because I can't be sure the weight will stay down.  I've never been this low before.  Don't beat yourself up for buying new things..retail therapy is good...as long as it isn't excessive!

Going to see my MO today..for what I don't know...I guess so he can poke around on me some more.  I'm taking the damn tamoxifen so he will be happy, but he doesn't know it's only 1/2 the dose he ordered and I don't think I'll tell.  I'm doing as well as can be expected on the stuff....hot flashes and more hot flashes.  I throw the covers on and off all night long.  No wonder I need a nap daily!
