CT w. contrast results. I'm scared.
I had Monday (March 5th, so two days ago) a CT scan with contrast. Got the results today and discussed with the oncologist. He pretty much brushed it off (making me wonder if he doesn't want to scare me) and said see you in 3 months and repeat CT scan in 6 months.
So, among other nasty things the CT scan has shown (of which would be atherosclerosis, which would be quite a sudden onset in the last year or so, and I blame the AIs for it) and the old thyroid nodule that just sits there, not increasing but not going away either, and a discoid atelectasis (well doh, with this iron bra I haven't been able to take deep breaths since the BMX) - these worrying things:
A few foci of cystic bronchiectasis within the right lower lobe (that area that I complain it hurts all the time).
Ill-defined subsolid micronodule within the anterior left upper lobe (solid component approx 2 to 3 mm)
2 mm ground glass nodule withing the anterior right iupper lobe
3 mm ground glass nodule in the left lower lobe
Incidental intrapulmonary lymph node ajdacent to the left major pulmonary fissure
Left inguinal node enlarged, measuring 1 x 1.8 cm
And my right ovarian cyst has grown from 2.9 cm to 3.3 cm.
Rad dr. suggestion is "no definitive evidence of metastatic disease. Given the patient history of breast malignancy early metastatic lesions would be difficult to entirely exclude, follow-up CT examinationis suggested)"
So. I'm scared.

Aw, sweetie!! I'd be scared too! Did your doc go line-by-line? I do know of many women in these threads that have had some of these "things" on their reports and everything was okay. Did you have a previous CT to compare to? Why did you get the CT? Was it because of lung pain?
I will put you near the top of my prayer list, only to get you peace-of-mind. Can your PCP go over it with you? 3 months is a quick turn-around for another CT, so perhaps they are considering something and don't want to scare you. Doesn't work though, does it?!?
Our minds always go to the black side because we already know the way.
Much love and hugs,

Well, I feel a bit better for you. Six months is a long time for a second CT if they were worried a lot. As the mammo tech said to me as I bled on the machine from my nipple; be concerned, but don't be worried.
What the heck can he tell you at another appointment without new scans?? Seems a waste of a co-pay!!!
How the heck are you supposed to wait 6 months for more news??? I feel for you, sweetie....
More love and hugs,

Excellent appointment date!!! We will hold your hand through this, sweetie. I see there are a lot more women "viewing" this thread than posting in it, but that means a lot of us are concerned for you.

Sending you some positive energy - I was recently waiting on results from a PET myself, so I'm quite aware of that anxiety. Good luck to you.
(PS - we're having quite an early spring here in Jersey as well, things blooming all over!)
