I'm freaking myself out.

edited June 2014 in Stage III Breast Cancer

I finished treatment a little over a year ago -- chemo in October 2010 and rads in Dec. 2010. I had my PET/CT in January 2011 NED. I had a hysterectomy in Feb. 2011 and my obgyn even took photos of my pink liver and remarked at how it looked good. In Sept 2012 I had three CT scans because of pain and having a diep reconstruction. All looked good. I also had my colonscopy and endoscopy in Sept. 2012. They found ulcers in the top of my stomach -- not caused by the bacteria h-pylorie  sp.??-- They put me on a once a day med. for two or three wks.  And it seemed to help. Note: The pain from it drove me to the emergency room before I was dx with ulcer. They did a CT at that time to rule out cancer.

Fast forward:  Last week I finally go back to Curves since my diep in Sept. I've not done any abdominal exercises since Sept. I'm doing some crunch type machine and twisting.  I notice that on my right side I've been having the pulling sensitivity on my ribs that usually indicates my scar tissue needs to be worked on and I've got some of that stomach pain mid to right side.  My mind goes to those deep dark places. You'd think with three CT scans and my labs from 2 wks ago being normal, I could rest easy. But no, I have two days of aches and I'm thinking mets. Not to mention I goggled liver mets and since then I've had worse pain.

Ugh...what do I do?  I so badly want a break from all this. Sometimes I wish that I could take my brain off and leave it in another time zone.  Remember when a head ache was a head ache and stomach pain meant you ate something funky???

Advice and support needed.

Thank you.

Rachel

I chuckled to myself when I got to the end of your post.  I had a lump suddenly show up next to my thumb last week and what's the first thing that came to mind?  Mets. Yes, I also thought maybe a cyst, but that was the logical part of my brain.  The illogical side was screaming, "METS!!"  The illogical side screams so much louder than the logical side!  Turns out it was calcified tendonitis, which would explain the thumb pain I've had for the last month and a half.  I was telling bc ladies that I remember a time when cancer would have been the last thing to come to mind!  Now it's the first!

If it started with your exercise, I'd say it's exercise related.  You could get your scar tissue worked on, wait a couple of weeks as you continue to get back into exercise and see how things go.

I had the same issue/pain... Try to remember to stretch as often as you humanly can.

I remember when I hurt my sciatica and was wondering for weeks if you could get butt mets. ( loll) Are minds go crazy but it does get better...

Thank you, ladies. You are great. Always so supportive.  DH talked with the onc. office and the NP said it sounded like the ulcer they dx me with last Sept.  Found during my endoscopy. I am headed out of the country for 2 wks for business. No stress there Undecided So I guess an ulcer from 6 months ago could flare.?   Ugh, It is all still so  raw -- my nerves and emotions, that is. But I'm going to try and think of thumb and butt mets and smileSmile

    Love you guys,

    Rachel
