Here's some links to a story I'm keeping track of through google alerts. A company is developing something called Lymfactin, which is a growth factor they add to lymph nodes at time of transfer, which is supposed to help them multiply and increase the odds of the transfer working well (that's my non-medical translation).

Wow thanks for these articles and the information.  I am actually headed to Houston for a lymph node transfer and diep procedure at the end of this month.  I wonder if my PS is aware of this new opportunity.  I will certainly have to address this with him.  Though still in the very begining stages, this sounds fantastic.

    Thank you, thank you :)

Binney and I have discussed this with multiple experts iin the field: it is being done in Fineland as the study probably wouldn't be allowed in the US, Stanley Rockson sits on the board of the drug company and a phase 1 trial only is to check for toxicity.

It is interesting, in a number of ways.

Anna, who is doing your surgery? Please let us know how you're doing. This study is to pre-treat the nodes with VEGF--and it's not approved in the US
