Six years out
Even if I don't visit or post on this site often, I would like to
give encouragement to all my sisters who have been diagnosed
with breast cancer by telling you that today it's been 6 years since
my doctor told me I have cancer and I am still here cancer free and
doing well (well,I am fighting a bad cold now but that's nothing).
I was diagnosed with locally advanced breast cancer with a huge
14 CM tumor,22+ nodes,ER/PR-,HER2+++.
I had neoadjuvant chemo (AC/Taxotere,1 yr Herceptin),followed by
surgery,radiation,then DIEP reconstruction.
I have never tought I would be here after 6 yrs,but here I am.So,there is hope
for all of us,stage III ladies.

Mariana. Congratulations!! I am so happy for you. Enjoy!

Congratulations Mariana. Love hearing these stories!
-
Congrats - love these type stories - and they give me hope. I am soon to be one year out from dx, followed by surgery, 5 months DD chemo and 35 radiation treatments and now on Arimidex. My biggest problem these days is that with every ache and pain (and this is one of Arimidex's SE) I always wonder - is it from the drug or something I need to be having checked out.
Any ideas of how to keep paranoia from becoming my new friend?? How long does it take to get past that stage?
-
Marina, congratulations on your six year mark! Love seeing these anniversaries
