Well let me start by saying that I am the least craftiest person around. However, after I finished chemo and had too much time to think...I started ScrapBooking. It was so therapeutic because every photo took me to a happy place...well not every photo. The ones that had a wince of a difficult time...I ditched.

Now my dilemma is that I need to get back to it for my mental health..lol, but I have 2 huge Rubbermaid containers full of unsorted, undated photos. It's a bit overwhelming so I'm not sure how to begin sorting. By occasion ie: Halloweens, Christmases or by dates..although that may be difficult to figure out. I am from the generation...pre digital so I have a tone to sort through.

Any suggestions? Any scrap bookers out ther?

Thanks

Beth

    Hello Pickle,

I've been scrapbooking more than a decade and love it!  I still do not have all my pictures organized - the thought is overwhelming.  I just randomly pick whatever pictures seem interesting and work on those.  I have family albums which go chronologically (mostly) and a Christmas album that gets displayed and added to every Christmas.  I like the idea of a Halloween album.  One good thing about scrapbooking is you can do what you want.  You could have baby pictures mixed with high school - if at some future date you are so inclined you could organize by date.  My advice to you now is just enjoy doing pages (add the date to each page if you can) and don't get overwhelmed with the sorting.

A thousand years ago, before there were scrapbooking supplies in every store, I was a Creative Memories consultant!

The thing I loved the most about scrapbooking was sitting at my table, trying to decide between hot pink and soft pink as a background. No other problem or issue mattered....just what color or shape or sticker I should use on a page. Of course, there were many nights I looked up and it was after midnight!

Just a suggestion about arranging your pics.....if you do it chronologically, you can label the backs, and even if the pic doesn't go in a scrapbook, your kids/relatives/future generations will be able to tell all the "who-what-where" information that is usually missing!

You could also do it by holiday or occasion.....you can guess the date by the clothes, hairstyles, and how big certain kids are.

    Have fun!!!
