I'm having BMX with TE on March 23rd.  I'm Grade I, BRCA-, ER+, PR+, HER2-, and ki-67 is 1.  As of right now, I'm stage 1 with a 1cm tumor and they don't see any visible signs of the lymphnodes being involved (from the MRI, CT and nothing is swollen).  Of course, they won't know for sure the size and lymphnode involvement until surgery.  My question is about chemo.  IF I stay at stage 1 with no lymphnode involvement, what are the chances of me having chemo just based on my age (I'm 35)?  I'm curious as to how many in their 30s did not have chemo and have remained cancer free and for how long?  I'm sure I'll be on Tamoxifen or something similar which I'm ok with.

Have you seen an oncologist yet? I saw mine before surgery and she and the surgeon communicated about where she wanted my pathology done, and instructed the surgeon to send my tumor for Oncotype testing. Make sure you request this test of your Drs.... It takes about 3 weeks to get back, but is very instrumental in determining what treatment, if any, is recommended.

Best of luck with your surgery... I'm assuming they are going to do a sentinel node biopsy?

SmileI was told - age 50 at diagnosis - that chemo would be given because of my age.  Apparently, 50 is still considered "young"...

Selena- me too! I'm 43...just finished chemo (4TC) my Oncotype score was 16... My MO group uses 11 as a cutoff for "young, otherwise healthy" BC patients. She left it up to me, but said she would do it if it were her...so I did...
