I just received a phone call from the nurse at Stanford Hospital to get some information before my tumor board meeting on Friday.  She told me to start from the beginning and tell her everything that's been done.  When I got to the part where I told her I got the phone call telling me I had IBC she stopped me.  She said my diagnosis was IDC and since they had not done a punch skin biopsy it can't be diagnosed as that.  I told her I still had no rash, warmth, scaly skin, or open areas.  So I have no clue whats going on now! Just have to wait till Friday.

If you have none of the clinical symptoms ( rash, warmth, etc) and no skin biopsy, you are probably not ibc. I actually had skin symptoms and positive skin punch biopsy (. At Stanford) and they didn't classify me as IBC, because my skin symptoms weren't pronounced enough. I can say that I am forever confused and worried about this.

The letters b and d sound a lot alike. Could you have mis-heard? I have my second opinions at Stanford. They are great!

I just put IBC, but the doctor said inflammatory breast cancer.  Glad to hear about Stanford! They say it's an awesome place to go for bc.  So I just have to go through the wait again waiting for Friday!

If they did a needle aspiration bx or something like that and it was under the skin, then it is not IBC. Maybe the person making the call was a bit confused or thinking of another patient. Without the skin syptoms, I would be inclined to say it's IDC.
