Sclerosing adenosis
Has anyone ever heard of this before or have it shown in a biopsy? I just received my biopsy report and it showed this. I see that it raises your risk of cancer a bit.

Yes I had this. It is a benign condtion. My onc said 50% of women have this. I could actually feel mine; felt like a little BB under the skin. That is how it was recognized for the core bx. It did not show on mammo or ultra sound or MRI. It does raise risk, but only minimally from what I understand. By itself, you are not in danger.

Oh wow fiftty percent of women, that is quite a few! Thanks so much for the info, sometimes when you read things on dr google they sound so much worse

I was just diagnosed with this yesterday! Do you have to go back in 6mths for a mammo? My B.S says I just need to be more viligant with BSE and if any changes are found to let her know ASAP.

Two years prior to being diagnosed, I had a biopsy in same breast which revealed "sclerosing adenosis". My suggestion is to be monitored closely. This was a lump all of us (the surgeon, me, my Dr.) could feel. My cancer could not be felt. Be monitored CLOSELY and do you breast exams.

yes, I also had this . It is a benign condition which along with many other things, raises your risk slightly, but only slightly. Just be vigilant with your monthly exams and your yearly mammos.

I'm on board also. April 2010 started my fiasco. Mammo was suspicious as was repeat and sono. I was told it was 99.9% BCa. Had the steriotatcic Bx...it was sclerosing adenosis. It took me 2 years to go back. And I'm in the field. Stupidity....yes but I was so done with it all. Went yesterday for mammo. Next month for Mri. Good luck to all and Yes do stay vigilant.

Yes, sclerosing adenosis is a benign condition, but is sometimes problematic for pathologists because it can mimic a carcinoma and/or even be found near or within a tumor.

Hi there. I can tell you it does raise your cancer risk - because that is exactly what I had when I was 38 and then when I was 40 it was cancer. I don't meant to scare you just being truthful. My breast surgeon told me at that time I was at a higher risk. However, not all women who have sclerosing adenosis get breast cancer either. Just keep a close eye and keep doing your breast exams. If you feel anything different call your Dr. right away. Good luck to you.
