Roxy, I have no experience with Aromasin. Surely others will post with some advice. I just wanted to wish you good luck with the test. I, myself have Tamox bad SE and in the same situation- to go off for a while or not. Hope you get answers and relief very soon.

i was on arimidex for 6 years; i didn't have swallowing issues.  is your throat swollen or is it in your jaw and muscles in the throat area?

i hope you can get this issue resolved....let us know*

Roxy .. I am so sorry this is happening to you.  I had severe nausea and vertigo on Arimidex.  Have you tried Tamoxifen?  It might not have the same side effects.  I hope you get the all clear on your GI series.

    Keeping you in my thoughts,

    Bren

I probably can't be of help - I am on Arimidex (and it's generic) but only going into my second month.  I don't have problem with swallowing but about 2 hrs after taking it I experience bone/joint pain.  It gets less noticeable after about an hour and then life goes on.

My hope is they figure it all out for you and your situation gets better.

Roxy, I have been on Arimidex (and now it's generic) for 3-1/2 years. I haven't had a problem swallowing, but if I were you I would print out the manufacturer's side effects and show them to your onc. Just because it is a rare SE doesn't mean you don't have it.

What does he say about trying another AI?

Well I dont take that but I lost alot of weight.  Caught it in blood test, thyroid  hyper.  Worth checking never would I have dreamed I had that problem.  It is in your throat.

roxy, we're sorry to read you're going through this (and looking back at your old posts, I see you've tried everything before going back to Arimidex when the generic forms of the others caused allergic reactions).

The main Breastcancer.org site has an article about Swallowing Problems and some causes and ways to help manage these problems. Please let us know how your test goes on Tuesday.
