Diverticula/diverticulitis

I missed work about 3 weeks ago because I thought I had the flu. I continued to have pain and gi issues for 3 weeks so I went to see a GI specialists. I had an interesting conversation with him. Two things-he said that he believes people with tics can develop diverticulitis just from having a colonscopy which I had a couple months ago. He said he's seen it flair up a month after the procedure. The other thing was that I was wide awake for my egd and colonscopy. The doctor that did it said she gave me the maximum versed fenanyl possible. When I mentioned this to him he said #1 he would have stopped the procedure. #2 sometimes "the max" amount a GI docs deems as "the most" is not the same as was an anesthesiologist would. He only does procedures with a CNA or an anestesiologist and uses propofol. He's had too many cases of people suddenly feeling everything during the procedure. Lesson: if I need another procdure I will make sure the GI doc is not the one monitoring the concious sedation. There needs to be a Nurse anesthesist or anes. present in the room. After all this I have to go for a CT scan to see what is causing the lower left pain. Freaking out once again.
