    Thanks for posting. I wonder if the companies that sell organic microwavable popcorn have avoided this. I can only think of one brand, so I sent them email asking. If they respond, I'll share.

    You can pop regular popcorn in a microwave in a paper bag or in a glass container made for that purpose. No chemicals (beyond whatever is in the kernels themselves).

     Not only can you pop the corn in the microwave  (2 TBS for about 2 min--wait for it to stop popping pretty much --depends on the microwave  how long to pop-be sure to cover the container though!!)Container should be 2-3 quart size.  It tastes great and you can season it to your taste--cheaper too.  Be sure not to use recycled paper bags if you choose to use a bag--they can catch on fire.  I put the popcorn in the dish without using any oil and it works just fine.

    I agree. I make microwave popcorn using a brown paper bag. (fewer calories and cheaper, too)

    FWIW, I emailed Newman's Own Organics and they said three of their varieties of microwave popcorn are free of Diacetyl and PFOA.
