    Hi everyone!

Who does great nipple tattoos in the Seattle area?

My PS is at UW; I'll see him today and ask who they use.

    thanks!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Ladies! I hope you're enjoying the Season.

I'm 4 weeks out from my DIEP surgery. It went well and I'm feeling better every day but boy... it's a long recovery. The couch (my nest) and I have become one :) It feels so good to have the major part of my reconstruction behind me now. Having boobs again is pretty cool! Christmas was nice and my DH and SIL did all the cooking but I still managed to get exhausted and ended up sleeping most of the next day.

Wishing you all a healthy, happy and blessed 2012.

    Shelly

Hi all, I just found this thread.  I'm from Seattle (though staying right now in Oregon).  I had my surgery at Swedish and am seeing Onc at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance.  It's nice to know there are other ladies in the area.  Thanks Tracy for starting this thread.  I hope everyone has a great week.

Hello ladies!  I am done with chemo (yay!) and begin radiation at Swedish on Monday. I'm seeing Dr. Mehta for radiation and so far find him to be a lovely man and a good doctor.

Any plans for another Seattle get together? I was on AC during the last one and couldn't make it but would love to meet y'all in person!

Ralston -- I'm sorry you had to join this club but we welcome you to the group!  This is a great thread to keep up with; it really helped me during treatment.  And we get together every now and then for dinner which is really fun.  Take care.

Howdy,  Been lurking for a while but have essentially just been soaking up information.  I am SO happy this forum exists! (oh, the late late nights...)

Had bmx in Dec and am scheduled for TE's in Feb.  Looking to connect with others in the Seattle area.  I'm pretty athletic and would esp. love to find someone to compare notes with and cheer on the road back.

    Hi Ladies,

I guess it is a testament to "getting on with my lfe" that I am not out on this thread very often any more.  I see we have some new folks and I'm really glad you found us, although not glad you are going through cancer.  Life is busy, busy, busy but I still think of all of you all the time.  It might be time to get us all together again.  I like our get togethers!  Let me look through my calendar and then get on later today to put some tentative dates in here.

Hope everyone has a great day (stay dry---it's raining like crazy!)

Yeah, a get together would be great! I had to miss the first one due to my dancing with the red devil.  I'd love to see everyone!

Hey Crazy Daisy!  What kind of exercise are you looking for?  I decided to train to walk the Seattle Half Marathon when I started chemo two years ago and then did Rock & Roll last year and will do it again this year.  I really recommend Team Survivor Northwest -- they are focused on women in all stages of cancer treatment and keeping us active!

Go for it Ralston!  Next weekend is the retreat, which I hear is great fun and very informative! It's being held at Fort Worden in Port Townsend.  Here's TSNW's link: http://teamsurvivornw.org/contact-us/  I imagine there is still space!

Ralston and NW Art -- last year was the first year I attended the retreat and I had a blast.  I usually don't go for group events, but this was fun.  Look me up -- under the name of Brenda -- and on March 31 they are doing their Walk With Friends on the Sammamish River Trail -- a 5k to raise funds and get people moving.  Do check them out -- it is a very worthwile organization.

It was great to meet Bridget and other Crazy Sexy Seattle Ladies at the Team Survivor Retreat this past weekend.  I came home determined to keep up the buzz from working out.  And then it rained.  Oh well.  I'll slog through.

The TSNW retreat was amazing! And frosty, it was so good to meet you in person. I hope you were able to slog through the rain! My brother always says, if you don't do it in the rain in Seattle, when will you do it? :p

My birthday was on the 16th and I took an activity from the retreat to work: 4-square! I got a group together at lunch and we played and had a great time.

I'm wondering if any of you Seattle ladies can recommend a female medical oncologist. I go to Swedish in Capital Hill, and my onc is fine, but he doesn't seem to get it. The "it" I'm talking about is hot flashes and other quality of life issues. I'm wondering if seeing a woman might be more productive. Any advice?

codavis...my oncologist is Kristine Rinn at Swedish.  She is fabulous and I highly recommend her.  She gets it!
