Hair Hair Hair - Another question

Thanks, divine. The reason I asked is that I went to the drug store to sneak a peek, but it was full of employees, so I fled. I need to know what to get, so I can get in and out quickly.
-
Momine: I used to color my hair years (ie:eons!) ago. I had long hair and it got all over the place. Try using Petroleum jelly, or any thick lotion. Put the jelly/lotion on your ears, neck, etc... And then use the hair color. Then wash off in the shower.
-
Ossa,
My hair is also taking a while to get thick. Mayo Clinic website says that it takes from three to ten months to grow a head full of hair after chemo. Here is the link:
www.mayoclinic.com/health/hair-loss/CA00037
-
Ossa, yes, hang in there about the hair. And how wonderful about being NED in December.
-
Ossa,
I also noticed that my hair looks much thicker in the mirror that when I take a picture of it.My family says that my hair those not look as sparse in real life as it appears on the camera.Could your camera be making your hair to appear thinner than it really is?
-
mkw1 thanks for the link. I was shocked when I saw the pitures of my hair.. It looks much thicker in the mirror, so hoping you are right and it is the camera.... Time for a new one that will be kinder to me
Thedivine... Yes when I got my pathology report back saying ned I could have jumped for joy
Still doing rads though.. Want to do as much as I can to hopefully prevent it coming back.. Thank you for your encouragements with the hair issue, wish it was thick enough to cover my scalp

-
Ossa, you are four months PFC? I think you have good hair growth for four months out.
-
Yes I was four months out yesterday, feel all the other ladies have so much more hair than me.. Hoping to go back to work in 4-6 weeks.. Asked if I could wear my hat at work ( I am admin at a retail store). was told by my boss I could absolutely wear my hat. Have a daffodil pin on it so customers will not question why I am wearing it.
-
Ossa, so good to hear your boss is accomodating! From your photos, tho, for 4 months out, your hair growth seems to be doing just fine.
Momine: need to get in and out of the store quickly, huh? What, you robbed a bank and are afraid you'll be recognized?
-
Divine, lol! Store employees scare me and I find it embarrassing to buy this kind of thing, so I don't want to risk being asked if I need help. If they ask, I say no and leave.
-
MrsM, You look great! You are a couple of weeks ahead of me, I am 30wks PFC.
Ossa, I am on the same meds. I have found that 2 wks after a dose of herceptin my hair grows like crazy then stops. I also have started taking Biosil and it seems to be growing even more crazy.
I need to take a picture........
-
EmmaC, yes, start taking pictures. It's such a good idea. I don't keep any set time I take a head shot. From time to time, I might be going somewhere nice, take a little extra time on my appearance, and think, oh, I'll take a picture now. That seems to happen about every month or so. It's only thru the pictures that I find assurance that my hair is actually growing.
Momine, purchasing haircolor is like buying a pack of gum to me. No embarrassment. I think of it as fun. If I am somewhere that I feel uncomfortable (can't think of any place at the moment but know I feel that way sometimes), or don't want to be disturbed, and someone asks if I need help, I say, "just looking at the selection." Employees are always fine with that explanation. We are all entitled to browse and retailers are fine with that!
Ha, ha, for some purchases, I might even pretend I'm shopping for someone other than myself!
And of course, you can always purchase online.
-
Hi every one. Thanks for the pictures.
-
Momine, 0ne of the most shoplifted items at the store is Preparation H for hemmoroids....simply because many people are embarrassed to buy it.......so there's lots more embarrassing things to buy at than haircolor. lol
-
I know Divine, but I have trouble buying underwear, make-up etc if it means I have to talk to some person about my wants and choices. Can't deal. Some days I am more brave than others, but can't imagine I would ever feel brave trying to buy hair dye, lol.
-
Ha! Well guess who has never owned a tube of prep H, although it is "sorely" needed.
