Well surgery is done!  Just trying to recover now, underneath my arm hurts the most, but nothing meds aren't taking care of! I went the next day after surgery for a fetal assesment , things are going well, and I guess now I just need to heal, and then find out results and find out what the next big step in this adventure is going to be.

Well one major step in this process is done... I know you metioned you were super sore..Something that helped me was frozen bags of peas..Since I couldn't or wouldn't take pain killers I would use those..That really helped:) I was numb but it helped..Hang in there the pain will go away in a couple of days!  I sent you an email...

Well my surgeon phoned today and informed me that my pathology report came back, stating that the tumor they removed was 8 cm and there was no lymph node involvment. Im taking this as good news and am hoping that means it hasn't spread! I will be meeting with a oncologist soon to discuss treatment. I wonder what it could be ? Im not to sure what stage that would put me at, originally was classified at stage three according to size and possible lymph node involvement but maybe Im not anymore , I can only hope!

You should be a IIb if it had no lymph node involvement and the margins don't show any spreading to the chest wall.

    C.O.N.G.R.A.T.U.L.A.T.I.O.N.S!

Hopingforthebest33:  This site is amazing.  I just today started reading this thread for the first time since it caught my interest in the "active" forum.  It was to my amazement that you began the thread in August 2011 and then in a matter of so many posts, took us through the incredible journey you've been on since then....all in the culmination of delivering a bouncing baby boy.  You go, girl.  God bless!

    Congratulations!!!!!  What wonderful news!!!!

I was diagnosed at 7 months pregnant and delivered a baby girl one month later (they induced me at 36 weeks).  I had my chemo and BMX with DIEP recon. later, still on Herceptin.  She is my 3rd.

    What a ride!

    Enjoy!!!!

    Oh my gosh,

I just saw your update.  CONGRATULATIONS!  My "baby" boy was born 7 weeks early and is now a robust, tall, handsome 13 year old!  He went through a growth spurt over the past year and a half and literally grew 8 inches!  Just think, this will be YOU in 13 years!

    Love,

    Sharon

Thanks so much everyone we are very excited! Now the hardest part is watching him fight the battle in the NICU , he is doing so well. I named him Cayden( means fighter ) Elijah Vincent . I thought his name was very form fitting considering the stuff he has gone through . He was 3lbs 3 ounces when he was born! They told me he was actually big for his age at 31 weeks , which sounds crazy. The hardest part now is not being able to take him home and watching everyone else take care of him. I hope to start treatment soon while he is in hospital and then it won`t be so hard when I get to take him home in a couple of months !

wow - congratulations to you.   I was following this thread but didn't say anything a while ago.  You'd be amazed how many women here are diagnosed when they are pregnant and face such hard decisions.  I am sooo happy for you.  Enjoy your boy.

It's bad enough to have the cancer dx thrust upon us but yours is a much more difficult decision to make.  I am so glad to see that Lisa and others have posted.  It always makes things easier when someone else in your specific situation has a positive outcome.  I will keep you in my thoughts.
