I Come to the Garden...

Thank you for asking. The church is going through changes, but so far so good. The old pastor is keeping his distance until all the dust settles, but plans on coming back in a non-leadership role.
The job I appled for fell through so far. The powers that be at personnel did not submit any outside applications to the department director. I have more experience, but they withheld it because they had insiders who typed faster. Frustrating. I have applied for several more jobs around the area. Yesterday I told my boss I needed a raise and how would I go about it. He said he would talk to corporate next Tuesday. (He is taking a couple of 4-day weekends which we are not allowed from Nove 1 thru Mar 31, go figure) Anyway, we'll see what happens.
-
Barbe~so happy that you are doing so well!!! Meece~ God has the right job for you at the right time. He is never late or a dollar short!
I understand the frustration though and will be lifting you up! Ladies please pray for my Uncle he had colon cancer surgery a week ago and has developed an infection. He was supposed to go home a few days ago and now they are not sure when he will be able to head home. Mum how are you doing? Have a wonderful weekend every one! -
Thanks Kc I am ok.Onc followup end of this month.Dh and i taking sperate holidays.Hopefully both of us will return with a new outlook on our marriage.
Hope your uncle heals without anymore complications.((hugs))
-
I will be praying for you Mum! I will hopefully know more about my uncle tomorrow. He lives in South Africa so I am not close enough to be of any help but just pray. He has his children and grand kids around so that is good. Take care of yourself Mum. ((((hugs))))

Seeking prayers: I rent an apartment (attached to my house) to my 48 year old brother Ed. He did not go to work Wednesday, so I went to check on him thinking he may have gotten the flu. I found him on his bedroom floor passed away. The coroner explained the four main arteries to his heart were clogged with cholesterol and a piece broke off and he was killed instantly. I will handle all the affairs for him, but one sister is quite upset and wants the control of everything. We have locked up the apartment for now. My husband and I go over a few hours a day to sort through things. We rented to him for 17 years so there's lots over there. I've been getting a lot of advice from people but I know that God's way are best and that's my prayer request. I just want to follow what the Lord would have me do in this situation. He never married, no children etc. There's myself and three sisters. Thanks for your prayers. Jean
-
Oh, Jean. My condolences to your and your family. This is one of those difficult times which can loosen those family ties. My prayers will be for God's will to be shown in this difficult situation.
-
Jean, I pray that God guides you ALL in this sad time of grief!
kcl, prayers to your Uncle too! That was my biggest fear through my recent surgery - to get an infection. We are just so vulnerable in the hospital.
Hugs to all.
-
Jean I am so sorry for your loss. What a shock! My prayers will be with you and your family. ((((jean))))
Barbe thank you for your prayers. I agree it is a concern when one goes to the hospital. Yesterday was a bad day for him but apparently he was doing better today. He has a colostomy bag which he is not happy about and they said he would have it anywhere from 5 weeks to a few months. God is in control! -
meece, im praying for you/yours .. and jean, im so sorry for your loss... will be praying the Lord will give you His wisdom.. families react so differently in these situations, i know.. and ill be praying for your uncle, also,kc165.. we all hate to hear the word "infection" when in the hospital.. 3jays
-
Good morning just checking in to see how everyone is doing before I head off to work. Praying for you and your family Jean. How is your recovery coming along Barbe? Praying for you too 3jays. How is the job hunt going Meece? Haxe a great day! Hugs to all!!
-
I am still doing great!! Can't wait to get the pathology on the 17th so I can put this behind me. Notice I didn't say "get over"!!! I HATE that term!! You don't get over something, you move past it, or around it. Semanics... I know.
I will tell you here that I sent out two resumes by email!! Already got a call-back from the commission position. The other one is for admin in a real estate office, right up to staging homes!! I would love either one. I am NOT going back to my toxic job where the new management treated me like shit. They do say, you don't quit a job, you quit a boss. So true!!
-
Barbe: You have such a unique way of seeing things, it encourages me.
Thank you for the prayers. The service is on Saturday, so it may very well be hectic for a few more days. My wonderful church family is doing all refreshments and so on which lifts a major burden from me.
God's goodness has allowed me to keep peace with my three sisters. They are having issues between them which, by the grace of God, I can stay out of. I pray for God's peace to be upon them too.
God's blessings to all of you. He amazes me so. "And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, have an abundance for every good work." 2 Cor 9:8
Jean
-
Jean, your sisters might have some residual guilt that they didn't see their brother enough??
-
Jean~ I will continue to pray for you and your family. Your church family is wonderful you certainly don't need the added stress of trying to organize refreshments.
Barbe~ I am so happy you are doing well. I really hope you get the job you want. Why do people have to be so mean? My DH once had a boss who made his life miserable. He was transferred to another team which was better and eventually after 5 years the guy was finally let go. Why it took so long I'm not sure as no one could work under him. You are so right though about people quitting bosses!! -
Barbe, you do have a unique view. I had never heard about quitting one's boss, but so true. As I sit here holding back tears. I asked my boss for the acrued time off since I started, and he said corporate said no, not until the end of March (11 months). I had asked for a performance raise and he came back with "Everyone is getting .50/hr raise as of the last time card. That includes the guys in my office that falsify their timecards and the guy who doesn't do more than 2-3 hours work in a day. He sits and pretends to do my filing, and in the end of the day, I finish it up. I go above and beyond, but after today I have lost heart for it.
Jean, so glad you and your sisters are able to keep peace.
I had my annual physical yesterday. I've lost some wiehgt, but when I have days like today, All I want to do is eat bad stuff. I had my thyroid tested in Dec, and it came back normal, but now my Dr says it feels enlarged and she will be watching it. She wants to see me in 6 months.
-
Ladies I am going in for exchange surgery in the morning. Please keep me in your prayer tonight.
-
Definitely, Janie. May you have peace and confidence in the skill of your physician(s). And, may God be with you as you recovver.
-
Jean I am so sorry for your loss
Meece I ope every thing works out with your thyroid
Praying for you........ -
Hmm, more thyroid issues going around, eh??? This was my second go-round with tumours on my thyroid but they didn't give me Thyroxine until they took the last of it out with this last surgery. I just feel SO good that I wonder if part of that is the Thyroxine? I don't even nap anymore!! I lie down and read and my DH naps.
Janie, we are all with you tomorrow, you will feel our presence....
-
Happy Birthday in Heaven Lisa! Miss you! Love You!
-

Hi Ladies Hope all is well. Sorry for your loss like you said put it in Gods hands and it will work out for the best. Please keep me in prayer I am going for all my 1 year follow up appt. Any of you know when is the best time to take out the port Is it after the one year or do they keep them in, Thanks everyone and enjoy your weekend,
-
Hello all! Meece so sorry about your work situation, we will keep praying for something for you. Don't these places realize they lose good people by allowing such toxic work environments?
Janie will be praying for your surgery tomorrow! Hugs to all -
Thank you all for your prayers. I am trying so hard not to get down, but I am having a rough time.
3Jays, so glad you are able to make it here as often as you can. I pray that your thyroid will respond favorably to your meds.
Lynniea, good to see you again. Hope things have been going well for you. I have heard ports come out at one year, but I was not given the option to have a port, so I have no first hand experience.
Janie, I pray that your exchange went well yesterday. I am sure you will be happy with the feel of the difference after you recover!
Barbe, you spunky thing, you keep healing well so you can get back into the workforce with full force.
Jean, I will keep you in my prayers for smooth sailing with the whole family tomorrow through the service.
Eph, thinking of you. Hope you are having a good day!
-
Thanks Meece I have my 1 year test this week coming up. Please pray that all is clear and God has done another healing. Hope all is well and will be praying for your job situation. I go back to work on the 10th of March for the first time can't wait.
-
meece: i LOVE the new avatar!!was there an "Occasion" that goes with it?
lyneeia: i'll be praying all is well...
im just continuing on, as best as i can. they;re not sure how i'll do, the ms precludes anything that boosts the immune system, so who knows?? only God, thats; who.....3jays
-
Well 3jays, God also knows there are an awful lot of us praying for you to get a break anytime soon!! We know he's listening....
-
Thanks, 3jays. It was at a friend's wedding. She had requested that people "dress up" for the occasion, not cocktail dresses. It was fun to get to dress for an occasion rather than being overdressed. this is the happy couple!

-
What a GREAT wedding shot!!! Is that bunch of flowers her bouquet?? It's HUGE!!
-
No, they were decorations.
