I go to Zumba at 6 PM, Mon thru Fri. They have 8:30 AM and 10 AM classes, but I work days so I have to go at 6. I didn't think that I'd like Zumba (because I am totally uncoordinated), but it is really fun.
-
I adore zumba when I wasn't working I went every day. But I gradually stopped going once I got a job. I miss it and have gained all my weight back that I lost on weight watchers. Going to new orleans tomorrow when I get back Ia m going to get back into it again.
-
I see zumba in the gym I go to - not much of a class taker - I prefer to get on a machine and go.

My daughter was diagnosed 2 yrs ago with breast cancer after having a baby 5 months earlier. she elected to have both breasts removed then she went through all the recommended chemo as well as doing a trial program which they took off the market. She was then placed on Tamoxiphen and has been on that for a year. for the last 3 months she has been experiencing extreme fatigue which we related to have 3 small children and a teenager. However, it continued to get worse, and began to experience nausea all the time. She also began to experience pain her right upper quadrant. As a nurse practitioner, I ordered some blood work on her as well as an US of gallbladder. It showed liver infiltrated with many small tumors and one larger one in the left lobe. We notified her oncologist who ordered a CT of abd which confirmed my diagnosis. she has taken two doses of chemo since that time but has been unable to get any more as her WBC is 1.2 and her platelets are just 26000. She has done a lot of research on alternative methods of treatment. She has begun to do the jucing, drinking juice plus, and eating a virtually vegan diet. She is also testing her saliva and urine pH, working to get her pH to a more alkaline state as cancer cells cannot survive in an alkakine environment. they flourish in an acidic environment. Since starting on this process ( with only 2 chemo tx in 8-9 weeks), her liver enzymes has decreased from the high 200's down to right around 100. we are rechecking it tomarrow. However, her RT upper quadrant pain is gone and her very enlarged liver in not palpable now. She looks and feels great. She has decided to go to Houston Tx. to see a Dr. Brysenski who is practicing a non- neoplaston medication and getting great results even with the toughest brain cancers and all other forms of cancer. I will admit I am very scared, however, it is a decision she seems to be very comfortable with and wants to persue. I am putting my faith in God and trying very hard to let him have it, but as a Mom it is very hard. She hopes to see him next week so I will keep you posted.

Terrie I have seen Dr B's website and I have to say if I was in a difficult position and could afford to go I'd give it a try. I know how hard it it to give your children over to God. I lost my son when he was 4 1/2. She is very lucky to have a Mom that loves her so much and can help her understand some of the medical stuff that we have to deal with. I will pray that things turn around positively for your daughter.

Terrie I am so sorry to hear the news but happy things are looking positive. Keep us posted on her progress with Dr B. Sherry I am so so sorry for your loss. You are such a strong example for us all!
-
Thanks Sheri, Life is not always fair as we know with dealing with BC. You just have to go on with life and I have found it much easier when I rely on God instead of relying on myself. This past Monday my baby would have been 21 years old. Hard to imagine him all grown up.
-
Oh that must have been a hard day for you Sherry. (((hugs)))

Sherry I just realized last Monday was Jan 23rd. This is my husbands birthday too. Again, I am so sorry for your loss and amazed at what a strong example you are for women with bc!
-
Sheri I have a cousin and a good friend that bday as well. Jan 23rd is a great day!
-
This has nothing to do with the topic but I can't help but share...I GOT NIPPLES last Weds. Ok I feel better now. You may go back to your regular programming...
-
Congratulations! Sounds like you're pleased with them. I get mine in March, but whose counting? Me!
-
LOL SheriBell!!!
-
St Ives products don't have any parabens or phthalates - what else are we looking for so I can look at the ingredient list?
-
Sheribell and Kay you girls crack me up!!!

Hello Ladies-
May I join your thread? I have been lurking and reading your posts, but did not have a chance to jump in. Anyway, I highly recommend this website:
http://cincovidas.com/toxic-truth/
The young lady- who is behind that website - gave a lecture once at Gilda's Club in NYC about toxins to watch out for. She is a cancer survivor herself. I also signed up for her newsletter on FB. One of her newsletter pointed out recently that before we sit in a car we should open the windows and air it out as we turn on the ignition b/c of the chemicals coming through the vent are highly toxic.

Here is the article I was telling you about above:

Sherri bell- your good news special announcement made me laugh out loud. Thanks for posting it!
-
Cool Sheribell! Yippee!
Survivorwoman - I also love that website. I printed out a list of the chemicals they tell you to avoid and keep it in my wallet so when I am shopping I can refer to it. Works like a charm!
-
Mdg - I have that list with me too. But now I only get certain brands that I trust. Like Weleda's shampoo and body wash. Or I use dr bronner's castile soap to clean everything at home.
-
Watch out for Neotome in organic foods! A new sweetener of Monsanto!
-
What do you guys think of garnier fructis pure and clean line, the bottles says no parabens or silicone
-
Carrol2, Their products are showing up as 4,5 or above in the skinsense database. You want to aim for products that are 2 or less if you can. Go to EWG.org and click on skinsense database. Enter any product you want to look up.
-
thanks for the site ptfdreams i don't see this shampoo on there it's a new line by them that is called pure and clean and it does not have parabens or silicone.
-
Wow ! Ptdreamers: Thank you for the link! It is amazing! I thought the baby body wash-shampoo by Weleda was safe to use. I was wrong. Very wrong. Thanks again!

I found a new company online (Applegate Organics) with organic and no antibiotics meats. We tried a spinach and feta sausage tonight and it was delicious. Their animals are humanely raised on family farms in a stress free environment that promotes natural behavior and socialization. The sausage that we had tonight was chicken and turkey with no antibiotics used, no nitrates, no fillers, and gluten free. Check out their website...

Thanks for the links Ptdreamers and Ceeztheday. Good stuff. I also printed out the list from cincovidas.
-
I have been looking at ewg.org a bit more. I was wondering ....why does it give Vaseline a 1 ? I thought petroleum based products are bad for us...... just wondering how believable their number system is?
-
You know what is interesting about beauty/healthcare products here in the US? They are formulated so very differently than the same brand in other countries. I picked up a bottle of Korres foundation recently, and the list for the US ingredients was about a mile long, with lots and lots of chemicals. The European version list was much shorter, with a heckuva lot more recognizable ingredient listings! So frustrating!
