Have any of you had this happen and not have a drop in your platelets.  Mine have come back normal but When I scratch I get these little broken blood vessels.

I'm freaking out.  Doctors office didn't seem to dang concerned.

    Hi Teresa,

I had the same thing on my lower legs during chemo. My doctors felt they were due to the Avastin. They're now fading, though, and I'm still taking Avastin, so who knows. Maybe it's simply the chemo that does it to some people.

Show them to your doctors the next time you see them, but don't get overly concerned at this point.

    Hugs,

    Annie

Oh Annie, thank you so much for answering me so quickly.  I am just sitting here stressing out.  Is it my liver?  I have been having twinges on my right side....oh god is it spreading?

I'm just freaking myself out.  Just when I think I have my emotions in check....slam!  Hi remember me...breast cancer.

    Again thank you.

    Teresa

    Dearest Teresa,

No, it is NOT your liver. It's just a side effect of the chemo. Although this is not anything to be concerned about, you should show them to your doctor so you can have peace of mind.  http://www.virtualwomenshealth.com/diseases.asp?did=873

Believe me, I understand about the panic buttom -- I press it myself each time I have anything out of the ordinary happen to me. Put your mind at ease and tell yourself that this too shall pass. It will.

    Love,

    Annie

I have tons of them.  Got a few when I was pregnant and tons while on chemo.  Most fade a bit after a couple of months, but some are still bright red spots, most tiny.

Getting better one t-i-n-y baby step at a time.....To keep things on topic, my doc calls petechiai "Stork Bites" because they so often occur during pregnancy.....
