Brain Mets?
I'm scared out of my mind. Had an MRI yesterday and am waiting for results. I've had a constant headache for about 3 weeks. They gave me a migraine shot and it didn't help. I was pretty sure a few days later that it was a sinus infection - I had pressure in my cheeks and across the bridge of my nose. I took antibiotics and the pressure went away but the headache in my temples was still there. I read some sypmtoms on the web and started feeling like maybe my vision was a little fuzzy - like I couldn't focus my eyes. Went for an eye exam and my sight is 20/20. No issues. Back to the MRI. My ears have been plugged for days - headache seems much better - but i'm scared out of my mind. Could this be mets???

Same thing happened to me last year. Headaches, plugged ears, I had the brain mri and it came back fine and all the symptoms vanished thank god. I think sometimes our mind can play powerful tricks on us, hopefully thats what it is with you

Thanks. I really hope thats what it is too. I can't stop shaking, I feel like i'm just going to jump out of my own skin every time the phone rings.

Heather, I have been dealing with the same thing. Just had my ear irragated by the Dr. today, and wow, what a difference. Our weather hasbeen very dry here and sinus infection gave me terrible headaches. Those are gone but the ear fullness was persistant. I saw the onc NP who did all the balance tests and nuero rundown with me, and I passed with flying colors. She took one look at my ear and was stunned by the fact that it was totally impacted. I have spent the last two days with hot compresses on my ear and it is getting much better. I hope your symptoms are something just as benign.

Is it possible your period is trying to make a come-back? Did you go into menopause with chemo? Could this be hormonal. I had a headache for close to a month back in July. Then my period showed up again and I realized it was just hormone's out of wack headache. I was really starting to freak out. I worry about this as well with the Her2+ aspect of our cancers....But since my period is now back, I get a lot of headaches around this time. I do worry very much every time I get any type of headache. This really is the big scare for me and I am sure it is for you as well. I hope that you get good news soon! My month long headache was almost seven months ago.....the waiting must be just horrible. I wish they would just do the MRI and consult with us directly afterwards. It is just sooo very hard to feel such fear while we are waiting. But imagine how wonderful you will feel when the negative results come in! You are in my thoughts!

good thought. i have been in chemopause for a year a month at this point. No sign of period returning. Maybe this is my sign. Fingers crossed.

Kathleen - I believe you have some sort of psychic abilities - I started spotting tonight - literally hours after you suggested that my headache might be hormonal. I still don't have MRI results, but I think this is a good sign!
-
You may not believe this, but I have been checking this post expecting to hear what you just told me! I think this is a very good sign!

You are pretty amazing to think of that. I still haven't received a call regarding the MRI, but i'm feeling a little better (knock on wood) about the possibility of clean scans. Now what to do about these ovaries!
-
Thanks so much for the comments and reassurance. My scans came back clean!! Hugs to all of you!

I notice that you're HER2 +. Are you still on herceptin. I know I have the same kind of symptoms and I'm thinking it could probably be that.
-
Congratulations on your clean scan!
