-
Jules...hope if it is thyroid they can sort it out fast for you...blood tests will need to be done to keep an eye on it all but very doable

Back from my appt. Turns out he had my cervical spine scanned - up around th neck. In 4 places the discs are herniating - some have reached the spinal cord - some have not. He did 5 trigger point injections using cortisone. He said it will take about 3 days to really kick in. I can already feel a bit of a difference. Go back in a month for followup. Thanks everyone for going. Can't believe how well behaved you all were especially since I know Tink was hanging out with y'all.
-
Jo- hope you are feeling bettter soon. Herniated discs, that has to hurt big time.
Saw my GP today. She put me on thyroid replacement, I start the pills tomorrow morning. She also gave me a shot of B12. Says I should feel better soon. I haven't seen her since before BC. She gave me lots of sympathy and encouragment. Also told me my new short 'do looks great on me.
Bone scan tomorrow. I'm convinced the pain is not in my bones, so I'm double agravated about it. I have a $1500 deductable, and would like to spend that money on other things. Oh well.
-
Wow! 600 pages! I agree, any excuse for a party! Paula , thanks for your contribution!
Happy Valentine's Day everyone!
Jo, glad you are getting some relief already, and hope that by Day 3 you are MUCH better.
Jules, I hear you on the deductible and things you would rather spend it on. I realized today that I have spent SO MUCH $$$$ on stuff for comfort, appearance, copays, PT, massage therapy, group therapy, other complementary care, higher tier drug charges, prostheses (not covered - considered out-of-network charges - guess they would have rather paid thousands of $$ for surgery rather than a few hundred $$ for foobs), UNDERWEAR (NOT my thing!!!) to hold foobs, etc etc etc that is all because of BC. I would rather have spent all that on art workshops and art supplies. Maybe that goes into the bonfire thread rather than the tamoxifen thread.
Today I finally called my PCP about this miserable arm pain, she prescribed lidocaine patch, which I put on before the commute home and I think it is working. Of course, I'm not sure if it is the patch and less pain or the 1/2 xanax I took that is giving me a whole lot better attitude tonight.
-
Jo - hope the shot helps a lot!
Jules - synthroid? Levothyroxine? What amount? -
Jo glad they at least figured out what has been causing the pain and hopefully the shots will kick in soon.
-
MamaV, it's Levothroxine 50 mcg.
-
Jo good to see that you are getting some answers. Yes its hard to believe how well behaved we were with Tink and all. She can be an influence, hee hee!
Jules I know how them darn bills for this stuff start adding up. I just cringed at the begining of the year because know Im back to the 3500 deductable. Dont forget we love pocket parties and will be there with you while you are testing.
Linda its good that you are able to find some relief regardless of its form. I dont mean that in a meanspirited way, I just happy that you can finally have a bit of relief.
Love too you all my SISTAS!!! XOXOXOXOXOX
-
Me a bad influence?? Wellllll just for that I'm not telling you where I hid the boys... haha

Just a quick checking in tonight - today was a VERY long day at work. The lidocaine patch seemed to help today. So not doing too badly - I will take it!
Hope you all had a Happy Valentine's Day! Thinking of you all tonight with gratitude.
-

Linda - glad you are feeling better
Jo - ga hey are geting cortisone into you
hugs to all...bed for thi s tired little teacher...have o be zooomy tomorro wam.
-
Sandee those are so fun. I like the one because not only did we get to take what we liked. The woman who put it together had us leave what we didnt want back and she took it to the Salvation Army.
Well the cooties hung around like never before. I finally broke down and went to the doctor. Got a talking to for not coming in sooner. Basicly I was told that I need to remember that my bid isnt what it once was and I dont bounce back like I used to. This just frosts my cookies. I never felt that a cold was a reason to run to the doctor. Crazy stuff it is.
Love to you all! Have a great day!
-
Just checking in this morning while I have a few minutes. Work is incredibly busy and the days have been long. The cortisone shots are working Yeah! Had some soreness at the injection sites yesterday but are much better today.
For those going for appts, I will be in your pockets, those that are not feeling well - sending gentle hugs and for those that are on the road moving forward - just remember the weekend is almost here and we know what that means - PARTY TIME. Maybe Paula can come up with some eye candy. She always aims to please!!!
-
Jo yeah for the shots working. I was thinking about you this morning.
Paula hope you get to feeling better
-
Going for second opinion with new onc next week-looking forward to seeing what potion is recommended.

OK, ladies...I go for my D&C on Monday, so I'm sending out an invitation to another pocket party. I have to be at the hospital at 6AM and the procedure is scheduled for 8. Hopefully they give me one of those beautifully fashionable hospital johnnies with a very large pocket so you can all fit in! And you can make as much noise as you want because I'll be fast asleep!!
-

The clothes swap sounds cool. What a way to get new clothes for free.
Oldest son called today and he is going to have his kids this weekend so they are coming to visit on Saturday. Will have a full house. He has two and his GF has two and they are all full of energy. Ex wife was not being cooperative over Christmas so we did not get to see them. It will be nice.
