Surgeries (done), chemo (done), radiation (done) and now on with Tamoxifen and feeling GREAT!!!  Last year at this time my training was derailed by a nasty disease we all know too well.  This year - it is not going to interfere with my plans!  My last chemo was 11/2/11 and my last radiation was 1/13/12.  I started Tamoxifen after radiation and I have to say I feel so good!  I am back to training for my half marathon and able to follow the 4 month out training plan.  I am so thrilled!  Though each day I wake up, I feel like I am 100yrs old, it takes an hour or so to losen up and not be so stiff.  This was just a personal goal of mine and throughout treatment, I never stopped running.  Even a little each week kept me going.  Yes, it hurt.  But I pushed through it.  Stretching was the hardest and most painful but now I can stretch farther than before.  I just think we have to give it a chance and be patient with ourselves.  Excercise is soooo good for you regardless of cancer.  It has so many benefits at every age as long as you do what you can tolerate.  Slow increases will get you good results.  I write this in hopes to give anyone some hope that we can get back to a place where we feel good and can do things we used to do.  Don't give up - do what you can do - but always try to do a tiny bit more each week or so.  We are strong women!!!!

You will do great.  Congrats for being on the other side.  I did two cycling events in the two weeks following radiation, and then the Seattle-to-Portland w/i six weeks.

I really believe two years out that I am "better than ever".  Did a 32 mile training ride today.  I cannot think of anything I "used to do" that I can't do now.  I am fit, buff, and in a wonderful new place in my life.

Congrats, and you will do just great. - Claire

I'll start training for real when my treatment done. I have 2 chemotherapy s left. I usually walk fast walk my neighborhood daily. Its 2.4 miles.

    I tell myself "Yes I can, can't is a word I don't know"

I wear my running clothes every day to motivate myself.

I've lost weight and they fit nice. Im sure I look funny. But who the blank cares
