Good Heavens! Thank you all for the happy wishes, cakes, violets. I just loved them all. Now I will not not take up so much space on this thread with all my goings on. I am so grateful to have you all in my life. Thank you!
They did an electrocardiogram and it indicated a hole between two chambers or something like that. I am not sure exactly what it is but they say that often this sort of thing corrects itself so she will be just on watch for the first year or so. I feel so relieved. The doctors are not worried and she is out of ICU and with her mother in her room. Yay for Violet and AGAIN THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU HAVE GIVEN TO US.
Susan (aka Grandmother Zap)

Happy Birthday, Zap! And a very warm welcome to baby Violet. Lovely name.
Happy valentine's day to you all.

Yay for being out of ICU! So happy to hear this is not of too much concern, and yes, it often clears up by itself. Violet will have us all keeping watch, and sending grateful prayers.
hugs to the happy family!
-

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone:

-
Happy Birthday Zap and a Happy Valentine's to all!
-
Zap, congratulations on your new granddaughter. My husband had a hole in his heart. Then he met me! Ha, just kidding. My husband did have this issue, and had to go to a pediatric cardiologist at the age of 48. My nephew had a similar problem. This "hole" is very common and often closes after birth. If it doesn't, its relatively easy to fix. If you have any questions, just PM me.
-
Yep Zap....common and quite often self-correcting..still scary tho when it's u and loved ones! Ur daughter and Violet know that they are "loved ones", right!

Hope u all had a wonderful Valentine's Day! DH hid stuff and I just found the last of it...funny how it was all edible and all his fav , not mine! But....
-
Happy Valentine's Day everyone!
Happy Birthday Zap. I was born with a "hole" in my heart and it closed on its own.
-
granbabyZap born so close to Valentines day can only signify that the heart heal.
-
Zap-congrats!!!
So everyone i have a serious problem on my hands, i was sure i made up my surgical team disicion and was going with evanston, however i talked to dr. Witt (rush) tonight and if i dont need radiation he recommends removing my whole lumpectomy scar. This is a three inch long verticle scar on the side of my breast. Im scared shitless. My other surgeon was going to leave it but he hasnt seen my recent mri, i guess theres slight (prob residual) uptake close to the skin right under my scar. Im going to demand to speak withhim tomorrow. I feel like Witt is overly cautious and the surgeon from evanston is just cautious but not on the same level.
Do yu ladies have any suggestions? If i went with rush my op would be next tuesday 21 the other would be the 24... Im seriously running out of time and feel hopeless.. I dont know what to do at all and i feel like i might have a panic attack, i cant sleep either.. If you couldnt tell
-
Katie - Wow...you have alot to think about. But don't FREAK OUT! I do not know what to suggest other than a THIRD opinion perhaps? Although...I would go with the overly cautious opinion??? Cripe... Try not to feel hopeless. I understand time is an issue, but take a deep breath and make a decision. I don't know what else to tell you... Definately talk to them tomorrow. Hang in there and best wishes to you.
