I went to a chemo class yesterday, the RN told us that for some reason BC patients frequently get chemo brain.  We asked what chemo brain is? Her example: You might forget how to write a check?   I have not seen one post regarding Chemo Brain.   Has this happened to anyone ? OMG the possible side effects are really scarey.

    eileenohio,

Your Brain After Chemo, written by Dan Silverman, MD, PhD and Idelle Davidson, is one book that describes the way in which it can present in different patients.

    eileenohio,

I just finished 12 weeks of taxol and hercpetin. I found I did "forget" things more often , but nothing that was the end of the world.  And I am 57 ,in the middle of treatment for cancer and have 2 teens, so chemo or just life, who knows!  I did find that within about two weeks out from stopping treatment, I could go back to doing 6 things at a time, couldn't do that during chemo.Be well,

Hey Eileen!  I'm from Ohio!  (chemo brain didn't make me forget that)..anyway..there should be plenty of things on here about chemo brain here...It is real....for me it was mostly dumb stuff..like maybe wearing two different colors of socks (or shoes)..or coming back in the house to make sure the coffee is off, the hair straightner is off, the garage door is down..and in conversations..losing the train of thought..it was like having a conversation and then totally forgetting the whole thread...lots of things..but it does get better...
