french luxe will let you pick one for free.  go on their website and somewhere it will give you directions.  they sent me a beautiful headwrap, free, and a super nice card.

I bought oversized scarves at a place in springfield, va, a wig shop, forget the name now, but could dig it up.  Right off mixing bowl by about 45 seconds.  Not "bandanna" size, but slightly bigger.  Folded them corner to corner and wore them "pirate style."

I was very happy with this, as chemo for me was march to june, and i was bald through the summer.

I had a free wig thru ins., I wore it once, and hated it, it was hot and scratchy.

But my wig lady, in Warrenton, I think, paid very little attention to style, and much attention to charging my ins. co. big bucks.

If you think someone isn't really paying attention, they're probably not!

Try somewhere until you feel good!

jap62, I liked the American Cancer Sociey's website tlcdirect.org for hats and scarves.  The monofilament wigs from them are all right, but the other ones are not so good.  Good luck during your journey.  Sending hugs to you.

yes you can get a cap to wear underneath.

I was mainly home, and would go bald, as it was hot.

Really and truly, I got to ENJOY the ease of showering and towelling off, and dressing!

And then the hair WILL COME BACK!  BEFORE YOU KNOW IT!

Much luck to you, The place in springfield trims, styles wigs, etc if you find one you "almost" like.

I got a couple of the Raquel wigs from wigs.com and really like them. I got the lace front ones. You can return them if you don't like them.

For more casual things like running to the store I bought a coule of buffs, like the ones on the show survivor and I love them! So comfortable and they come in many colors. I think it is buffs.com or you can google them. REI carries a few styles and they are 20$
