Is it a metastases to bone.? I am so much worried..:(
My mother has recently operated for infiltrating duct carcinoma on left breast (mastectomy) on Dec-7-2011..and some details of her IDC is as follows
Age = 47
Grade = 2
tumore size = 5 cm
lymph = 3 of 12
ER and PR = Negative
Her2neu = Positive
On the day of her first chemotherapy which was on Jan-18 -2012 .Oncologist told to do the whole bone scan to just check before chemo starts..And now the result is there in my hand and which tells in impression that : MILDLY INCREASED UPTAKE OVER RIGHT SL JOINT.(advised further evaluation).I am her son very much worried that is it a metastases
But ray of hope is that My mother have had disc related pain in past 5 years or so .Now it is reduced some what .If she do heavy work or so it will pain her again in legs and buttock region and in the back.The hotspot on sl joint shows a little light dart region in sl joint.And I think it is of the disk pain what she is suffering from past 5 years.
What do you think my Hero's of this site .: Please help me.

Sorry I can't answer your question but want you to know I read it and understand your concern. What is SL?
When does she see the doctor who ordered the scan again? Do you know what sort of scan was done? Bone? CT? It sounds like they are recommending further investigation which may include different scans.
Hoping for the best for your mom and you. -
I think SL is actually SI - sacroiliac joint.
I hope you find the answers to your questions here!
-
Thanks for your kind replies BCO Hero's
SL is sacroiliac joint
Full Bone scan was done where it gave the impression like that .
CT , MRI was not done
next wednesday feb 8 is the day where we have to meet the oncologist again .
Is any chances are there that the cancer spread to that sl area so quickly .?
:(

I'm sure you may have been told this but it may be worth hearing again...worrying will not help or change an outcome. You're momma needs you right now - to be strong, have faith and be a stable rock in her shaken world.
also...you cannot adequately read these results...and we can't either. Docs get paid a whole Lotta money to do that for us.
Yes...it can be that aggressive. She has had a previous injury so you really wont know until next Wednesday. For now, spoil her, spoil yourself and go one step at a time.
Sending prayers for you and mom. -
Godsaveus, I don't know if it is cancer on the scan but if it is your mom will get treatment such as her chemo and Herceptin to try to eliminate it. Of course I hope it's not cancer.
Will you be going to the doctor with your mom? If so, maybe prepare a list of questions that you want to ask and make notes of what the doctor says. It is likely that she will have other scans.
Certainly come back and let us know how the appointment goes and what the plan is.

I have had numerous back, neck and shoulder problems. All i can say is think positive. I had some ghing shown and it turned out to be a tiny piece of tooth that got left in after the oral surgeon stitched me up. Good luck.

@ Racy madam..My mother don't know english
I will take all of your advices and will tell the results and updates.:(
May Godsaveall of us .:(

Bone scans also show arthritis. I am your mothers age and mine showed a lot of it all over the place. A pet would show if it is cancer or arthritis. Pet scans are very expensive.
What chemo is she on?
I wish you and your mother the best.
