Just found out friday that oncotype score was 53!  I am scared beyond belief because I was also told that I am a triple negative after being told I was ER+ on the path report.......not sure why it changed to TN and my oncologist isn't either.  He said that he will have to do some more confirmatory tests (whatever those are??).  In the meantime, any long-term survivors of Stage 1, grade 3, IDC, with TN??  Needing a little encouragement after reading about TN and hearing such a high onco score.

    Thanks, Rhondalee

To Rhondalee, I was amazed to read your post, because the same thing happened to me!  The pathology report from my original biopsy in October 2011 said ER+ (although weak).  Had lumpectomy and snb on Jan. 4 and today got path report from that which says they retested and I am ER-.  Have an appointment with oncologist on Jan. 17, will let you know what he says.  I plan to beat this thing with treatment, diet, exercise, organic living, yoga, all the things I didn't do before which is why I was overweight, unfit, and had a tremendous amount of stress.  Those 3 things are my enemy, and they are history!  Hang in there, I will be praying for you.  We can compare notes as we go along this path seemingly side by side :)

Patti - Big smile from me when I read your post.  Congratulations, and thanks so much for sharing your good news!!!  We all need to hear these stories.

Rhondalee and JJsMom - Sorry you have to be here, but welcome.  You might want to visit the "Calling all TNs" thread here.  You will find some very supportive, well-informed women who can answer any question you have.  I was also scared when I got my path report, so I understand. Yes, TN is generally aggressive but it's treatable, and you will hear many encouraging stories over there. Best of luck to you!

Patti - you ROCK!!!  Thank you so much for sharing your happy 10 year anniversary with us!  It means the world to know there are long term TN survivors out there.  Next month marks my five year anniversary.  I am celebrating by hosting a luncheon at my simple, little townhome for the wonderful women who have helped me through this challenging journey.  There are 20+ of us who have or have had breast cancer.  It is an amazing group.  We meet for lunch once a month - always at one or another of the local restaraunts.  This month I want everyone under my roof.  Nothing formal - we just keep finding one another and inviting newcomers to join us.

Happy, Happy, Happy...never thought I could say that five years ago!!

    Blessings for all of us,

    -Holly

As TNBC over 10 years ago, I felt so alone and helpless.  It is nice to hear more about this positive story. We are supporting each other -  We fight cancer not only with our physical body and treatments, but also with our spiritual.

13 yrs, Stage II, Grade 2, TN.
