Good Morning,

Has anyone experienced pain and a "ridge" near their breast after a mastectomy?  I went to the Dr. and they seem to think its either scar tissue or lymph nodes.  Should inflamed lymph nodes worry me?  I get a mamo and an ultrasound this Thursday, if they don't like what they see then and MRI and possibly a biopsy.  Is this normal? Thanks.

Good morning Agada,   I don't have pain but I've got a ridge growing around the top of my foob. I noticed a lump last June in one spot but it seems to be going around the top now...last summer two of my docs told me it's scar tissue. I hope they are right! Actually, I believe them so I've not been too stressed. I hope that's what you've got going on. Good luck with your test, please post back and tell me it is scar tissue. I had no idea that scar tissue lumps would show up two+ years after the surgery.

More than likely it is just scar tissue especially if you've had MX, recon, exchange, etc.  Do you have Alloderm?  That, too, can form hard ridges.  I found a ridge on the side and found out later my PS had placed some Alloderm there to prevent the implants from migrating.  Scared the heck out of me when I felt it until I found out what it was.  (They should warn us about stuff like that!)  Hoping you get some good news, too!  (((hugs)))

Ah, I have alloderm as well.  I hope it is just scar tissue.  At least my doc will be checking it.
