Mags,
I don't like cowgirls Doctor, but at this stage it would only mean more delay getting treatment if she switched.
And with an HMO she is limited.
I hope so much your test come out good, CHEERS!
Laucher,
You said you haven't had anyone to really talk to, and you
really need that. And I am telling you even if you did unless it's someone that has seen treatments up close they don't understand. I hope by coming here you can vent,
and get hope that things will get better.
Kari,
I am so glad you are feeling good, and keep us posted about the upcoming test.
hugs everyone,
Carrie -
HI all--
Thanks for your words. I think one of the "storms" has passed, this weekend was pretty nice actually. I have identified some areas in myself that i want to change, ways of thinking, etc, but mostly it helped to let ti out some and then go on. I have to get better at choosing what to let out with Suz and waht to let out elsewhere.
Regards,
Drew -
Drew good to know you are doing better.
Big news show is this week, we are hammering plates to smitherines this morning, pouring concrete, and washing goats this afternoon. Hubby is working tonight, so I am going to need to grill a few steaks, make salad and tea too! Ahhh the joys of a busy life! I do love it that part of my life is back to normal, I am too busy to focus on what might have been. My shoulder is doing better since I move it all the time, pain is getting better too.
I may not be here in cyber world, but my thoughts and prayers will always begin with this group! I love you all so much!!!
happy venting, crying and dancing! For today we are alive!!! -
Denise had her first mammo today after DX ,It was the same tech too! No extra views, No long wait, Just We will see you next year!! Lookin good. She goes for her Pet scan on

Hugs-n-Love,

Hi All: Just time for a quickie. We got back into town yesterday afternoon. Weather sucked--rained most o' the time--but was good seeing family, etc.
Wow--so much has happened this past week. Let's see...Carrie: What's up with you, girl? Have you thought any more about your options, etc? Just to share a little from my wife's family history: grandmother and mother both had BC 2x. Her sisters both tested positive for the BRCA gene (as my wife says, BC doesn't "run" in her family--it gallops!)
So, on that basis, both my wive's sisters had radical mastectomies as a prophylactic against BC (neither one had had it.) My wife, however (BC 2x since 1999) decided she wanted to keep her breasts and take her chances. On the other hand, a PET scan she took after she was diagnosed the 2nd time, showed positive nodes in her sternum--so she felt vindicated, b/c she said, even if she had had a rad mast. the positive nodes in her sternum seemed to suggest she might have gotten BC anyway. So...I dunno if the above helps you or not; but I figured another perspective couldn't hurt.
Cowgirl: Frozen shoulder? Never heard of it. Is that better 'n a rotator cuff problem? Anyway, good luck gettin' the goats ready for the show...
Mags: My wife just completed PT for lymphadema. She didn't have as many sessions as you, and in her case, she's still wearing this supportive piece of cloth (dunno what it's made of--but her PT gave it to her) that gives her extra support in her swollen breast. The doc measured her and said the lymph. was minor, but she'll have to keep an eye on it for years to come.
Shemp: Sorry I missed out on the dacquiries (sp?). Got any leftovers?
Laucher: Welcome, my friend, to the club. You've come to the right place. As you've already seen, this is a place where you can vent to your heart's content and no one is going to judge you--but the opposite--you'll get lots o' support--from both the wonderful men AND women here (God, I love you guys). And since you're new, I'm gonna repeat my "mantra:" if you haven't already done so, run out and pick up (or buy new/used on Amazon) a copy of Marc Silver's "Breast Cancer Husband." It's an excellent handbook for men on everything you wanted to know about this awful disease, what your wife goes through, physically, mentally, etc., and what to do and what not to do. It's been of great help to me and lots of other men.
I think that covered everything, no? Guess this message wasn't as short as I thought it'd be. Oh well, back to work. Have a great day, everybody.
Greg -

Hi Carrie, I'm here. Every time I see that goat I think about you and Denise fun fighting on the other thread. I think of you both as teenagers. Her flowers are going to be fabulous. I hope everything goes well with her colonscopy and that they give her good drugs lol.
Fabulous to hear the Kari got good results and no more testing for 6 months. Whoopee!!!!
Happy dance for Kari.

Hey Everybody: Carrie, thanks for sharing the good news about Denise and Karilynn.. Please don't mention the colonoscopy--I just finished breakfast, lol.
Went out yesterday and bought bicycles for my DW and me. Then, the three of us (DW, DD, and me) went for a ride on a local trail. The smile on my DW's face was worth a million bucks--and worth maxing out my credit cards, lol (of course, that night she came down with her 3rd strep throat of the season! But, as I was quick to point out to her, last year, during her treatment, she did not have a single incident of strep throat--which could have been disasterous!)
Best to one and all,
Greg -
It's the start of autocross season for us, so I was getting the car ready. That, and wife and I are having a little weight loss contest of our own. We're not too terribly out of shape, but both of us could stand to drop the extra 15, maybe a little more for me. So she's been out roller blading a few times and I've been jogging a lot more. We're waiting to get the bicycles out too! It seems like it's been either windy or wet most days, so I've had to forego the bike for jogging. Can't wait to get the bike out though. I ride to work on nice days, and we're doing a bicycle touring vacation this summer, so time to get those quadriceps awakened from their winter slumber!
-
Mags, Denise and I are very immature for our ages lol!
Denise is home resting and the results are nothing found woo-hoo she gets the results from her pet on thursday.
Shemp- my son in law races in pro stock and he too is busy
tweeking and re what ever you racing guys do . he just bought a new body this winter so he is very exited.
Greg - for your wife {{{{hugs}}}}
I am sorry she has strep throat hope she is feeling better soon!!
Update on Cowgirl- Cowgirls DH is in the hospital with gall bladder attack he has been there I think today is day 3 waiting for surgery, they wont let him eat because they keep saying they are going to do the surgery and then he gets bumped again. He is not the lay around kinda guy and is going stirr crazy laying there waiting.
Thinking of you both cowgirl hope he had his surgery today and all went well!
hugs everyone good to hear from you all!
Carrie -
Hello everyone,
You guys are sooo sweet! Thanks for thinking of me.
Mags, I am the younger of Carrie & I so it would be natural to think of me as a teenager. Carrie, I think, is due to a genetic disturbance of some sort!(hee hee)
Greg, so sorry your wife is feeling bad. I use to get strep alot when I was younger, it is such a crappy illness. Speedy recovery for her.
Cowgirl, darn it!!! Are you getting frequent hospital miles? I'm praying that all goes smoothly and recovery is quick and comfortable. You take care of you too!
Shemp, I admire you and your DW's get up and go. I'm still in the 'talking about it' phase of excersising. I'm not sure I remember how to ride a bike (despite the saying '...it's like riding a bike').
Oh yeah, Greg, I could use some advise. How long before you felt it was safe to eat beans again? Just wondering!LOL
Denise
