what to expect at first MO visit?

I have my first appt tomorrow with my oncologist and I have a question-Will I have to have any kind of physical?  Will he want to examine my mastectomy and other breast?

    My medical oncologist examined my breast at my first appointment. I met with her prior to my mastectomy because I knew regardless of what they found with the nodes (which turned out to be positive) ... I knew I would see her because of my ER+ PR + status. I am glad that I saw her prior and certainly glad that another set of eyes and hands will be monitoring me going forward. I see her again tomorrow post mastectomy, DIEP reconstruction, node excision surgery on Jan. 10. Ready to discuss the path report thoroughly and discuss next tests and course oc chemo.

    Yes, there will be a physical exam.  If chemo is in your future, part of the determination will be how well you have healed so that a first chemo date can be set.

    How did your appointment go?

    I had my first MO visit yesterday and she did a very thorough physical exam of my breasts and surrounding area. If she had lit a scented candle it probably could have qualified for a massage.
