Yes lunch was really nice as usual. No picture again but I suppose if I took any they would have been on that phone I lost.
I have a dentist appointment at 11:15 in Old Town on the 30th. If I'm still not working lunch could work.
My PS does that tattoo. He told the fellow last time that he sports an earring and leather jacket when he does it. I haven't rescheduled yet. The nurse said she might be able to fit me in on the 7th early afternoon. I don't think my DH can make it that early and I did want him to help with color. I do trust my DH.
To be honest I'm a bit annoyed right now between the phone loss, the PITA trip just to get down there, being rescheduled for an hour later as I was just about to leave only to sit around for another hour only to be told it would be another 45-60 minutes more. The idea of letting an exhausted PS put permanent ink on me just didn't sit well. I can understand running late but 3 hours! I mean he wasn't delivering babies today. I actually called at 2 just to make sure everything was OK. He was only 15 minutes behind at that time.

I'm still on the fence regarding nips.... Seriously, I'm terrified I'll have these sticking out "headlights are always on" nips.... Plus, I REALLY like never needing a bra. Not to be creepy but I honestly think I need to see some live and in person to maybe decide??? Lol.... Anyone?
We braved the weather and went out for mexican tonight.....YUM!!!! it was fabulous as usual and the roads weren't horrible by 7:00. I'm SO glad I didn't have a long commute today though.... I can't handle hours behind the wheel!!!
BJ... Hugs to you and all your co workers. Cancer can kiss my butt....it makes me so angry!! I will be keeping them all in my prayers!!
Zap... I can't wait to meet your beautiful healthy grand baby too.... I have faith that he/she is going to be just fine!!!!
Lago....BOO on losing the phone, that stinks!!!! And I definitely think you made the right call rescheduling the tats.... Nothing worse than an anxious tattoo artist!!!!!
Robo..... Anything on the hair watch front???? Nothing here...
I'm getting REALLY impatient....
Katie....YAY for finishing chemo on Monday!!!!!! I'm a day behind Robo with my end date....there is light!!!!
Lisa....that first shower post drain was fabulous!!! Hope it was good and you are doing good!!!!!
Lemon....so glad your first tx went smoothly....see, ONE down already!!! I remember after my first one all I wanted was to just do them all ASAP once I realized I could do it!!! The anxiety of that first one was brutal.
Mdg.... Miss you!!!!! We haven't gotten together forever, what is wrong with us?????
Adey.....
Jackie....YAY on everything being good at your onc visit!!!!
-
Oh...and WHY is no one taking any pics at all these lunches and get togethers????
-
Madismommy.....I told you if you took me to lunch I would let you get to second base (Ha!). I will show you mine. I did not want huge headlights. I think I like what I have but then again it has only been 6 weeks post surgery....who knows if they will flatten more or not. Pick a day and we can do lunch near your office!
We have not been good about lunch photos...we are too busy chatting and having fun!
-
Glad you girls had fun at lunch...sorry I couldn't join you.
MONDAY - LUNCH BUNCH - LAKE ZURICH - NOON - PM ME FOR MORE INFO
EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO JOIN US!
-
You can see mine too. I had mine done October 6th so I have shrinkage. They aren't too big. I'm not sure if they will shrink more. This was a question I was going to ask today but never even saw the PS.
-
So, we need to go to lunch... have a drink, skip the appetizer and head straight to the bathroom! Lol.
My exchange surgery is march 5th.... So, I atleast still have time regarding nips. But YAY for finally being able to ditch these tortoise shells!!!!! Robo, do you have an exchange date yet? -

Good slippery morning here. After the pour down of rain last night came the ice...glad we got back from Marion before is all had started. Hoping all of you can stay in if possible.
I have nothing really planned today though I will go out much later and feed the feral cats. Probably slip into Wal-Marts since that is one of the feral cat sites. How exciting !!!! I think I have mentioned before....living in a town of 14,000 is not conductive to much shopping --- the upside is that if you have to drive a long way, you will really begin to know what you want. About 80 miles for us to reach a Trader Joes....one of my all time favorite stores.....
Anyway....stay in if you can or be careful if you do need to go out. I do have those cleat things for my shoes/boots. Dh got us a pair a few weeks ago.....typical of us, we did not remember we had them when we went out to feed the dogs in our outside pen. We were slipping and sliding but did manage to remain upright.....vertical is so nice a direction. The dogs by the way have a large heated doghouse as well as heated water bucket.
Hugs, Jackie

Madismommy: I do like the drink idea instead. Maybe happy hour? I would be up for that:)
-
Girls;
My shower was awesome..It felt so good...
I got alittle flush this morning while hubby was taking off the bandages..But now it don't look so bad..
Decided to leave them off for awhile after my shower.

-
It's still snowing out but really beautiful in the park. Yeah I was out there power walking with my cleaty type things Zap recommended. They work great on snow.
LisaK Yay for showers!
Madmom I never drank much at all. Maybe a few glasses a wine a year. Now I feel I drink more since I got diagnosed. Still don't drink much but I guess I celebrate a bit more. Point me in the direction of dry red wine or tequila and I"m there!
Jackie I'm headed out today. First to replace my phone. Then see my good friend who was out doing the polar dash this morning… and you think I'm crazy. These 30YO are nuts!
-
Margaritas!
Polar Dash... is that a run or a jump in the lake? Either way brrrrrrr!
-
Lago - I missed the cleaty type things, can you share what they are again please? And happy phone shopping!
-
I don't remember the name of them but I saw them at Dick's and wish I would have bought them.
Gonna try bowling tonight with the pecs back in place, new butt boobs and two drains hanging, weeeee. (c:
-
Maria and Lisa I'm in please!

Losing a phone is awful. Maybe some nice person will find it and call your DH to let him know he/she found it. I have a "if you find this phone, call......" on my contacts. I also have an emergency number. I lost my phone in the woods on a bike ride in Mchenry and a forest ranger guy found it and called my daughter as she was the contact. I was so relieved to get my phone back and I sure hope, Lago, you get your phone back.
Blackjack, I so feel for you. I know that people tend to lean on the school nurse and she must be strong....but how hard that is for anyone to be. I know so many people with BC and they are not in their sixties! I hate it too!
Edite to add that I got the cleats from
http://www.bestinsoles.com/Yaktrax_c_167.html?gclid=CJOgppDO4a0CFYXsKgodUx4XXQ
But I know Lago got them for less and yes, I bet you could get them at Dicks.

Zap I think the walker price is what I payed. I got the walkers. I've put them on my work type boots, my gym shoes and my new slimmer foot boots. Haven't had a problem with them falling off. If you run I would recommend the pros though.
-
Thank you! I will hard to Dick's today! It will feel so good to be outside vs. the treadmill!
BJ - if I still am ok from rads, maybe next weekend we can meet up for a power walk? -
HI Girls....Happy Saturday to all. Ohhh I love all this snow and so wish I was up north snowmobiling right now. Maybe another day. Ok when it rains it pours and everything happens in threes right. My lucky day to have 3 hunky repairmen come and fix my micro, frig and dryer. Lucky for me they are still under warranty. They just don't make appliances like they use to.
So now have to wait for parts to come in aarrggg. Another week ....
Hawk..that would be great to meet up for a walk. I start my training tomorrow and I am soo excited. I will probable sign up for the McCormick run this week. I will let you know.
Zap..how is dd doing and baby.
Lago...sorry to hear about your phone. Maybe retracing your steps, it maybe in the snow. A friend of mine lost her diamond earring her late ds gave her. She had been walking with her students outside for about 4 blocks. retraced her steps and lo and behold there it was in a snow bank on the side of the road. Tha'ts what you call a small miracle.
Adey...are you still training and running?? want to join us.
Lisa ...glad you are feeling better post having a wonderful shower. rest now.
Jackie...doing happy dance for a clean bill of healthy. Watch that ice out there. very slippery. Glad to see the doggies have a warm house.
Laura...what's going on the li bro? hope he is ok. Having lunch without me. sniff. Enjoy .
Wendy... did you send for all this white stuff. Now we see it.. now you can have it back.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful fun filled Saturday. Remember life is to short not to have fun.
Time to go make snow angels outside...whee
See you all later.

BJ- I'd love to join! I can't run until I get my drains out but walking, you bet. (c: Guess I should get to Dick's for some traction.
-
Adey - glad you will join us. Anyone else Thursday for lunch in Wheaton??? Any other west siders???
-
Hi BJ...I think your training sounds wonderful and such a positive thing for you to do what with all you are facing. Baby's heart will be monitored again next Thursday. I am just waiting and hoping for the best. Induction is 2/10 if things remain the same. She was due on my b-day, but I'll take her any day she comes (and will love her no matter what).
MDG, I read your blog and found it so helpful to women. Good for you. That is so generous of you to share your experiences and reflections with others. I will be in Glen Ellyn (as per the above post) on Thursday but will wait to see what goes before I commit to lunch closeby in Wheaton.
Take care, ladies!

I was just wondering what kind of hobbies you ladies have..I'm getting into genealogy and gardening(would like to be more self suffient).I love to birdwatch an dhave just this year started keeping a list.
I have tried to teach myself to crochet but just can't get the first knit so I guess I'll just wait and try some other time.
LisaK
Other than that I like reading blogs.
-
Lisa - I am into genealogy, cooking, exercise, decorating, organizing and travel. I use to knit when I was a kid but have not done that in years. It would be fun to take that back up. I use to take Italian lessons but it has been a while...I told myself I would get back into studying it every week this year.
Zap - I started the blog without photos or my name...kept is secret. After a while I just wanted to help people know they were not alone. When I realized how much the cold caps were good for me and so little information was available, I decided to out myself and share that so others could have hope. That was a big step for me........Glad you found it helpful. Nice of you to read it. We are now going to get to the baby countdown hu? I hope you can make it for lunch....that would be nice.
-
Hi everyone! Wow lots of reading to do! Have been quietly waiting for my scan which was yesterday. Have been on this trial for five weeks though with the drive each week feels much longer.. All areas have shrunk with that darn lymph node almost normal size.. Liver spot smaller though still there.. Stayed overnight last night as the drive would have been horrid from Indy last night. Love my parents and appreciate all they do for me but a night in a hotel room with them is rough.. I'm just not 15 anymore!!
Speaking of 15.. My DS just completed drivers Ed!!! And we went to buy him a suit for his first High School dance..it'll be my Dd's last as she decided not to attend Prom in her ex BFs memory.. They grow so fast and I cherish every milestone!
Zap - thinking about your DD
Bj- if you have any questions or need any info to help out your co-worker let me know.. Unfortunately I know how it feels to be stage IV with a baby.. -
Makmak so good to hear from you. Keep that shrinkage going!
lisaK You are reminding me I need to get back to my "hobbies". I love to make stuff. I used to sew. Would love to get into jewelry design, and I don't mean just beading. Finding a job is at the forefront these days though. I'm love summer/spring/fall because of all the art fairs. I like to cook too.
-
Morning! NO! I did not ask for this white stuff! I want 75 and sunny! Warmer this week tho with rain so much of it will go away!
BJ....can't get parts for a week? Wow. Good luck with the training but no running for me. At my age the pounding on the joints would not be good for me...or my back. I will take a page out of Lago's book and start power walking in the spring, building up to it at the gym til then.
Lago...find ur phone? If u got a smart phone install a "find your phone" app...I did that after Dh lost his phone which we eventually found inside the couch but set on vibrate. If we had had that app it would have told us it was in the house, rather than him driving around retracing his steps.
Mak....sounds like the trial was a good move for you! Spending the night with your parents in one hotel room? Uh.....yes, you must have indeed felt like 15!
To all you girls in tx...you really all sound great, drains not withstanding. Hated those but I only had one and only for 10 days. Just continue to take one step at a time!
Hope you all have a great Sunday and a wonderful week. I have my yearly px on Tuesday and am hoping for no news as no news is good news! Then just wait for bloodwork to come back good so I can exhale...til the next appt in April with the rad onc (which will my last with him...I hope!)
Zap....on baby watch -
Phone is lost. I'm pretty sure it fell out of my purse on my way into the cab or in the cab… and if in the cab the driver is not returning it. We called the phone too many times. According to the records I was the last to use it so I'm pretty sure it fell out on the street in front of my building and the plow took it or a car has run over it. I replaced it yesterday.
If the phone does appear (and is functional) I can return the phone within 30 days ( with $35 restocking fee). I'm not holding my breath. I have checked several times. Who knows, maybe once the rain takes all this snow away it will appear. Doubt it will work though.
Never lost a phone before. I have to wait till I get an expensive one to do that.
