hey ladoes, im still lurking, but the hair is barely holding on.. i have a new "do" but don't want to scare the newbies.. its still the hypothyroid working against the hair; even with minoxidyl.. however, im still trying, hoping we'll find "magic " number for my thryoid levels. only at a 3.0' which ISN'T it.. so, i'll be checking on you luckier ladies!!!thanks for the tip about the tea.. gonna try it for the sparse scalp.. and ks mathews, add my prayers for your friend.....3jays

So sorry Ksmatthews, it's a bitter pill to swallow.
I think we are even more sensitive to others' cancers at this point in our own battle. One of my friends found out late this summer that she had lung cancer and she died within two weeks. All I could think about was how she didn't even get a chance to fight. It made me realize that no matter how much all the treatment really sucked, at least I got to have the treatment and fight the battle.
-
Thinking of both you and Janet KS. Cancer sure does suck!
Love from NZ xx -
LuvRVing,
Love the new avatar.
-
So sorry about your friend ks. Sending prayers for her family friend.
-
Love your new pic LuvRVing!
-
Thanks, ladies! I'm 15 weeks PFC and I think it's time to get the sideburns and the back of my neck shaped up. Both of those areas are an unruly 2". Check out the mini-bangs...lol!
-
That's what I call mine, "mini bangs" - it's been so long since I posted a pic I'm not sure I remember how but will try soon.
-
Ksmatthews, so sorry about your friend Janet. As someone said, at least we're able to fight this cancer. It's so tragic when others find out too late. I had a colleague who was diagnosed with stomach cancer and lived only two weeks. It makes our struggles with hair seem pretty insignificant, doesn't it?
-
ks - so sorry and so sad... prayers for peace on the way
-
Maybe he needs new glasses - LOL!
-
Men aren't that observant regarding things like that. Remember they like cracks. THAT they notice.
-
Thank you ladies so much for all the prayers and words of kindness. Sad to say she passed this morning

I hate cancer!!!!
-
so, so sorry, ksmatthews.
-
Oh ks, so very sorry! Peace to you and her family.
-
ks - sorry about your friend - just concentrate on thinking that she is in a peaceful and illness-free place. I know how hard this is for you.
-
ksmatthews I'm sorry to hear. I know this is hard.
-
Ksmatthews, truly sorry you lost your friend.
-
Ks
So sad to hear about your friend's passing. How devastating for her loved ones to have so little time after her diagnosis to process it and lose her. Prayers, thoughts and peaceful vibes all headed out to all concerned.

-
KS, so sad to hear (((hugs)))
Have anyone heard of using silicea to promote healthy hair? Heard about it today.. Going to try it.. Have to get OK from RO first though I can not find anything saying there is a conflict between this and rads..
-
KS - hugs to you during your time of grief.
-
ksmatthews, I am so sorry for your loss.
-
Ossa - my hair stylist said that the prenatal vitamins I've been taking to boost my iron levels will help stimulate hair growth. I'm going to keep taking them, since it (or something) seems to be working. I bought a big bottle at WalMart (they are not expensive) and take one a day. My hair is thick but the texture is what it was pre-chemo...very fine.
-
luv..thank you I will try that.. love your new avatar
