Her name was Melanie

We buried her today. 48, mom of three beautiful teenage daughters. 3 weeks ago, my son attended her twin daughters Sweet Sixteen party. It was at a clubhouse with a band, candles lit the walkway, feathers and streamers galore. Breathtaking. It was a fairytale I thought to myself. But, Melanie was hiding a secret to us all. Her breast cancer from 9 years earlier had recurred in October. This birthday, was her last to celebrate with her children. But celebrate she did! Radiant, and happy all night. What an inspiration. May her daughters feel her golden threads of love and joy tied to their hearts forever.
