Well it sounds like your husband was horrible to you so it is good that he has left? I think your English is pretty good. I wish I could direct you to the right area for help. But I have NO idea what to tell you. Do you have a Gilda's Club near you? Where are you located? Gilda's club is a good place to go for support. I didn't understand the part about the roof and the working instrument. Are you saying you have no-where to live? There has to be some-one on here that speaks German who you can connect with in America. Hopefully they will respond soon....

Hi Marie,
I'm so sorry that you are in this situation. What languages do you speak/write? If you let us know , maybe someone who speaks your language will respond and it will be easier for you to chat. I wish you the best and hope you find some support. Do your doctors or medical center have social workers or support groups?
Caryn -
There is a shelter that you could call. They might find a safe home for you.

Germanfrench, I'm sorry you find yourself in this situation. There are resources and organizations that can help!
Please read the section of the main Breastcancer.org site called Financial Issues to start, as well as the section Paying for Your Care.
It sounds as though you're living in the USA? Is there a German-speaking community where you live? Maybe someone who speaks your native language at your church or other place of worship? Your hospital social worker or cancer center nurse navigator may be able to suggest other local support agencies.

You do very well writing. I still could understand.
I'm not much help. I speak English, but I'm in the south. So I speak kinda down home style.
In my first marriage I was abused. I drove to the Police Dept. and they took me to a women's shelter. Best thing I ever did. Second best thing was marring my new husband and knowing what love really is. Cancer or not.
There is life out there. I wish you the very best. Keep it touch and let us know what you need. Someone will help I'm sure.
((((HUGS)))))

Thanks Judith and the Mods
I love that you care. -
You sound absolutely lovely! What if you tried one step at a time? You have friends right here...sisters who do love you and will stay by you! Next...check with Your doc and the social worker at the hospital...tell them everything you want!! Just start asking and know that everything you need is yours...
now...shake both of them bastards out of your head!!! Ex Sandy
Cancer have got to get out of Your head so you can take care of you!!
Hang in there sweetie... -
Hey honey. I am so sorry for everything you have gone through. The way your ex treated you was pretty heartless and I honestly believe you're better off without him.
As for your English, you did pretty well for us to understand you but I know it's hard in the working world. I know it's easy to feel alone in your situation but we understand where you're coming from and we are here for you.
Hang in there honey. You seem strong.

There are a lot of women who here who are supportive and kind. Feel free to pm us if you don't feel comfortable telling us where you live. Hopefully someone here can help you find the help you need. Not knowing exactly where you are or your needs, I wouldn't know where to began without knowing more.

Dear Germanfrenc, You are not alone...you are here with us on this site. Check with the patient coordinator at your hospital or doctor...they can help you find someone who speaks your language or if there is a large university nearby ...there may be students studying your language who would love to talk with you all day in your language and perhaps your guardian angel will find you someone who speaks your language and is going thru this same illness. I know sometimes when I least expect it, I find someone to help me. I too sometimes feel very alone with this illness but thats not real....we are never really alone.

Blessings

Sehr gut vivirasselena! Du bist ein schone Damen. Okay, so my german isn't so good any longer. It's been several decades since I've used while stationed in Germany. I've not doubt you understand what I wrote, despite the poor context and grammer.
-
Dear Marie, you are not alone if you can visit this forum. There are hundreds/thousands of loving, caring women here to encourage, support and befriend you. I hope you will reach out to your doctor to see if there are resources in your immediate area. The American Cancer Society may also be able to assist. There must be a local chapter near your hometown.
Please know I will keep you in my prayers and be happy to communicate with you (even though I don't know German).
Hugs,
Deborah

For those (like me) who don't speak German, above was a translation of:
Germanfrench...No one should have to go through this without good support. Hopefully there are local support groups you can engage with.
Regarding language concerns, Google translate at http://translate.google.com/# should help you to communicate on the board, You can write in German and it will tell you the English, or you can copy the comments/replies in english and it will tell you the German.

Sollten Wir ein Deutsch sprechende Gruppe anfangen? Es mag sein, dass es genügend Frauen gibt? Wir haben eine Gruppe, die Französisch sprechen. Sagen Sie uns bescheid. Grüsse von Uns.

p.s. Just asking if we should start a German-speaking group here to help her. There may be more German speakers than we know.

Actually, I don't speak ANY German, I just used Google. I DO, however speak Spanish fluently!
I hope German French is okay. What a tough spot to be in...I'd take her in if she were here in the ATL
-
I know...figured that out as read further down. Have used the translator for Spanish before myself.

My governor has pardoned a ton of criminals for who knows why, but my BC sisters (and moderators) have restored my faith in humanity. Thank you, ladies, for being so caring.
Germanfrench, so sorry you are having a hard time - I second the idea of contacting the police dept. They can get you in touch with a shelter to help you short term and get you some long term help as well.
Best of luck to you -
Suzanne
