ER/PR- HER2+ and local recurrence, anyone???

I'd like to connect with anyone who has the same Onco type; and who has had a recurrence.

1.3cm tumour was removed in November and scan confirm no spread (halleluia!)

Herceptin has been stopped as it 'didnt work' and no further treatment has been planned as there is 'nothing to measure'.

I will be commencing 25 (more) sessions of radiotherapy to the same area.

If had a bit of a down day, worrying about reduced prognosis and feeling 'ripped' off as I can't have Xeloda / Tykerb as there is nothing to measure.

Talk to me please....... anyone

    I am totally confused by your post.  Have you had a recurrence? If you haven't, how do they know herceptin isn't working as it is given to reduce your risk of recurrence. 

    As you can see, I had the same diagnosis (actually my tumor was 1.75 cm but can't get this board to display that size).  My CT/PET scan done before chemo also showed no spread.  I had 4 AC chemos and was given one year of herceptin as the standard of treatment here in the US.

     Five years after the end of chemo (4 after the end of herceptin), I am still NED.

    Maybe it is something that your national health care has decided to limit for patients with your diagnosis?

    I had 16 tx of Herceptin as well as 5.5 session of taxotere and carboplatin. If you are her2+ you should have the herceptin tx's.

    I had a recurrece whilst still receiving Herceptin. Thus the conclusion (of the Oncologists) that herceptin isnt working.

    Having a bit of a panic week.  Finished 25 x rads in February and am feeling great.  Although I have started experiencing slight dizziness and see the odd spot (vision).  Hoping that it is nothing to be concerned about and am too scared to see a doctor.
