You are very pretty and you look healthy and vibrant in the photo you posted.  It's obvious that the hope and optimism you have for the future is shining through.   It's wonderful that you've posted proof that it does get better.

I echo what everyone else says! You look beautiful! I have hair envy. My hair is not much longer than your before picture and I finished taxotere in late July. I guess we're all different and I just have to be patient. Grrrrrr!

You look wonderful!  Thank you for coming back and posting that.  I remember how hard it was to imagine every feeling good again, ever having hair again, ever smiling again.

Beautiful!!!!! I'm heading for my 3rd round of Taxol today and feeling somewhat discouraged and disheartened. Just what I needed to see (and read!).

You look wonderful. thanks for sharing!

Isn't it great to have hair again? Personally, I can live without breasts (prosteses looking good), but I would hate not to have hair. Yours looks beautiful!

Jenny ... you look wonderful!!  I wish I could post similar pics which I also have but, for personal reasons, I won't post pics of myself on a public forum.

Yes, there really is life (and hair too *wink*) after all the chemo and surgeries are behind you! I LOVE having my hair back.  In fact I love it so much I haven't let anybody cut it yet and it's getting really long.  I know it's not that important but it makes me feel more "normal" even though my chest still looks mucked up.

    Wishing all the best!!

I agree, no boobs don't bother me much if ever but the hair is another story.  When I shaved it it didn't bother me, felt it had to be done.  I never realized what an impact it would be when it grew back and just how it would make me feel.  I'll never be me again but having hair brings some normal back.  I have had it cut once about a month ago, it needed some style and shape.  I'm so happy some of you found hope in my post, I really didn't want anyone seeing that pic but glad I showed it now :)

Omg jennyboog, you have no idea how your pics and post just made my horrible day into a happy one. I have had a bmx, chemo, and am currently at the end of radiation with some pretty bad burns. I have been on the edge of tears all day thinking i can't take one more minute of all this. Your post just gave me a renewed hope that there is a light at the end of this dark tunnel... Thank you.

What a great idea!  Before and after pictures would let newbies see that it does get better.  I am going to look for some of me.

I love this thread. Just love it, love it, love it!

I have a new spring in my over-treated, one-year cancerversary-coming-up, exhausted, miles to go still, shuffling, painful, creaking, radiation burned step.

Everyone else who's now looking and feeling good again: please post photos!

Jenny: you look so beautiful in BOTH photos! There's no way I would have let anyone take a photo of me on surgery day, but now I wish I had, just so I had a hard copy of my memories!!

Jennyboog: You are an inspiration! I was in awe when I saw your photos . . . how thoughtful, selfless and giving. We are about the same time out, I'll be 2 years in June (14 mos from last treatment). You made me go back and look at my cancer pics and compare to one I took recently (my profile pic). Wow! Seeing it like that really does make you appreciate how far you've come. Thank you!  I'd be happy to share my pics, but I can't figure out how to do that. Love and hugs to all.

Jenny, I wish I'd seen this a year ago.  I thought the life had been wrung out of me.  It was so hard to believe people really do get better again.

Thanks again everyone for the compliments :)  My DH snapped a couple of pics of me during tx this being one of them.  I was annoyed at him at the time but now I'm glad he did, I can really see how things have changed for the better.  I mean, I know I didn't look good going through tx but I didn't think I looked this bad until I saw this pic.

@Cheryl....my hair is almost like it was before, I didn't have any major changes.  I have natural curly hair that I've always straightened with a flat iron.   My hair now doesn't seem to hold as long when I do that.  And it gets oil faster now, especially around the ear/neck area....I think that's the lack of ER though.  I can tell a slight difference but nothing huge.  When I first lost it I was hoping it would come back straight but nope, curly as ever...atleast it's back, right!

@quiche....it took my DH to post these pics, I couldn't figure it out either, that's probably why there's not more on here.

Jenny, you look terrific! And thanks for showing that we do make it through the tough times. I was not as brave--no photos of me back then except on the days I felt really good. And never in my treatment room.

I'm coming up on four years, but I think I'll wait until it's five before I start counting it off.

LLLLOOOOVVVEEEEE this!  You are brave for posting the before pic.  I only had one done, and has since "lost" it (on my last day of tx with my "chemo crown" on).  It DOES get better girls, and you are beautiful Jenny!

Jenny, will you mind if I post my before and after photos??? 21st this month will be one year of my surgery. Things may not be 100% at the moment, but much, much better... and it's worth  appreciating once more what a difference a year can really make!!!!!

Thanks for starting this thread and I know what it means to the new girls here, so if I too can be of some help by showing that it gets better and there is life after the toughest times, I am here...

Here I go!!! Bald and sick in between countless chemos. And then toasting for the 2012 with DH for a better, healthier year!!!!!

Thanks Jenny, BTW you ( and I ) don't look bad at all in the photos. I even think we all look a bit alike in the before ones... LOL.
